ok to me it seems like as soon as i hit vl 31 at stranglehtorn vale the game starts to creep along. I mean it takes an ungodly amount of time for me to lvl atleast there... I have a warrior and druid there and both very slow lvling I have done 4 or more quests still not even half way to 32?? TO me it feels like i mise well make other chars, i can take a lvl 1-31 in about a week to a week and a half if i play for a good amount. atleast that seems like im accomlpishing something besides wasting 2 hours for barely any exp. Is there a better place to lvl at 31??? Alll the q's I have done are orange are red also. So no green newbie q's or ne thing.

I had the same experience with my warlock at 32-ish. Getting to 40 was hellish. I couldn't find any quests or good places to grind. Maybe someone knows a good solution, but I don't.
Luckily once I hit 40 things picked back up. I gave up quests completely (unless their was a quest reward I wanted) I ground mobs and instances til 60. I think 40 to 60 was faster than 30 to 40 actually.

southshore, arathi highlands are good. duskwood is aswell for 30ish.
But, you should run gnomeregan a few times. thats good exp. then quest to 37 and run scarlet monostaty thats really great exp. that place can take you from 37-41 or 42 in no time.

PvP server or PvE ?
STV has a humongous collection of things to do ... on a PvE server.
On a PvP server you'll get ganked every other step.
I tend to grind 30-33 or so on Ogres/Trolls in Arathi Highlands, or Yetis in Hillsbrad.

The arathi refuge point is good for quests 35+
Southshore up to that.

PVE is type of server, and SV too big and most of the stuff higher lvl and i tend to get no exp hardly. Where is a good place to grind for alliance lvl 31-40? o and on another subject what lvl u get transmutes and alchem stone??

try this, print it, make it your bible. you'll love it. most of it will work for both ally and horde.
had to delete the link - them goldseller ads there make it a no-no.

You guys. Do you know how much faster doing instances is than grinding? Once you hit 31 or so go straight to SM and just do that like crazy. It will be 2353255x faster than grinding and you can get phat lewt along with it.

well in my case solo questing/grinding is better in most cases because of the constant afk's and stuff. im married with 3 kids so i cant always devote my time to a group. plus groups are not always the easiest thing to get.

arathai higlands north of southshore. If your a miner go to the Yeti cave due north of SS, due west of Tarran Mill. That will get you up to lvl 35, after that head north of Tarran Mill into Alterac Valley and grind the non elite orgres there, run around to find the mines. I went from 35 to 40 and made roughly 50g or more there in a couple of days (real life days not in game days) of playing at three hours a pop.
After 40 head back to STV and then you can grind on the Bloodsail Bucaneers, couple of my favorite quests are the ones of kill X number of Y mob and return to me.

that policy is so anal its almost stupid, makes me wonder if your "gold selling ad" crap is more out of competition then it is principle. get over yourself, most of the other sites make this one look stupid anyway.
instance is great assuming 1) you dont waste time LFG and 2) you have good group.
spennce: while i have no issues against gold buying myself, i understand that others would have an issue. to say on someone else's site that their issues are stupid is just retarded :)

retarded? yeah i guess its better to talk about someone behind their back, i can see the logic there.
its cool though, you can go to other sites like THOTTBOT.COM or WOW.ALLAKHAZZAM.COM or WOW-PRO.COM, or *gasp* WOWINTERFACE.COM / CURSEGAMING ......and not once on those sites will a moderater cram down your throat that their site is THE one and only wow site and try to use GOLD SELLER as a way to keep traffic on a site. You know what drives traffic? content and value. Be better than those other sites and you wont have to use excuses to keep people away from them.

Believe it or not, this site is not out to make money. The point is that the site administrators here don't support gold selling and they don't want to condone gold selling. This is their house, their rules. Do you come into someone else's house and start smoking even if they've asked you not to? It's done out of courtesy. They pay to host the site, and put in the time and effort on running this. You post on their dime, I think they should be allowed to say where you point people coming into their house.
edit: If you've got any more complaints, feel free to PM me. I'd prefer to keep them out of this thread.

Yes, but that takes a small modicum of skill and teamwork, unlike grinding which allows even the crappiest player to convince themselves that they OMFGpwn. Don't shatter their illusions, the poor dears.
moopy... i dont think u understand the amount of dedication and concentration it takes to sustain 40k/hour over a few days... i can take a nap in instances... can i nap while grinding without killing my xp/hour rate?
instances is not bad if you have good group. but ultimately u'll waste time LFG and resetting instances. grinding is faster.

Except for a select few instances (rfd... omfg that one sucks) it's really not that hard to find groups. I mean if you spam and ask guildies you can get a good group going in about 10 minutes. If that's too much time for you, you shouldn't be playing WoW.....

Level 31 is fairly early to be heading into STV. Except for the lower level kitties in the north, you are mostly looking at things 2-3 levels higher than you and it gets worse quickly as you head south. You should go back and try to do quests in the other areas. There are more than enough quests in the game to keep you busy at any level.
I don't even head into STV until I'm level 34 as it doesn't take long to before you need that to keep questing there.
Allakhazam.com has a nice feature of Zones by Level that will help out in finding zones that are appropriate and then looking at the quests there. I'd use that to see what you haven't done and try to work on those quests.
For example, have you done anything in Desolace, Stonetalon Mountains, Wetlands (Dark Iron quest line), Duskwood, and Hillsbrad?
If you are working on orange and red quests it will take much longer as it is hard to kill things that are 4+ levels than you are. You want even level or a little lower to really move through things.
As mentioned here, grinding and instances are always an option too to get you to a better level for STV.
u can get there @ 31, but just stay in the north.
