Hello all,

Quick question for you...I have been playing WoW for a year now and for some reason i rolled a PvE server since it is what i played on EQ. So i am now looking to play on a PVP server and i need some help on which char i should play either a war or a rouge. I have a couple of squishies on my other server and I really want to make a melee PVP char. So Which char is better suited for a PvP server? Which will be easier to lvl up to 60 with the least amount of ganking (if that is possible)? I like the rouge's ability to stealth but i love the warriors Hp and damage a Fury warrior can do....any suggestions/thoughts/insight would be very helpful.

Thank you,
Gado

Tip 1.
Spell Rogue.

2.
Choose between dealing or taking damage in 5-man-groups
2,5.
Is it easier to find a group as a Warrior(prefered tank) or a Rogue(sap in humanoid-instances)?

the top response was actually PvE oriented.

PvP wise here's your choices:

warriors- kill rogues shamans druids and paladins generally. so you kill pretty much every hybrid in the game. you're similar to a rogue in terms of damage, but your armor class is higher, so rogues usually die to you also. especially with our anti-rogue button i.e. Overpower. a lot of high burst damage which sometimes out damages a rogue.

rogues- kill pretty much casters in the game, as well as shamans and druids... usually have difficulty with paladins. do a LOT of melee damage, plus can stealth. the melee damage is more DPS than warrior burst damage, althugh for warriors if you spec fury, you're playstyle will be somewhat rogue-like.

both classes tend to die to hunters. warriors get owned by most casters in the game... although i find warlocks to be very killable

this is just my viewpoint. ive played a warrior for over a year now.

oops:undecided:
missed the part about pvp, lol
but either way, you will still have to do some PUG's, so they should influence a little
oh, and Stealth is wonderful, as long as you keep out of hunters sight.
about armour, at least in AB, you take enough damage to die fast anyway, as a warrior.. at least my underequiped self do  and youll get stunned a lot in those BG's...

aint got no good experience about world pvp though :embarassed:

if your a well set up fury war priests will never beat you..you jsut have to remember when they can fear...also being Ud warrior helps :D I have a little mod that shows me when my target priest can fear again :P it sets off a timer whenever the target casts psychic scream.

between deathwish, berserker rage and WotF... warriors are pretty immune to fear... MS is still a better priest killer tho.

Tip 1.
Spell Rogue.
Rouge rouge rouge rouge rouge rouge rouge!!! /crymeariver.

In short choose warrior if you wanna roll against paladins on gear. Otherwise play rogue so you can roll against druids.

Heh, on a more serious note - one thing to bear in mind is that on most PvP servers there is a very high rogue population.

to maximize warrior experience, you need to use the BEST weapon you can use at all lvls =p

Ok it's sad but true that "to maximize warrior experience, you need to use the BEST weapon you can use at all lvls." It's gear very dependant. But both Rogue and Warrior can use that statement. There is a huge difference in playstyle tho. Warrior is a big tank and you will do insane dmg but will also die in the end. Rogues...you can't charge head 1st. You need to sneak up to ppl and hit them unexpectedly and you will need the 1st hit. If your playstyle isn't the type that likes to plan b4 u strike, roll a warrior. Play a Rogue like you do a Warrior and you will see a true warrior Overpower u.

Back to the purpose of this post. In a pvp server, I think it's safer to roll a Rogue. As you would be required to use more caution when you're in Contested Territory. Having the ability to Stealth out (Flash Powder) and Sprint away helps. As a Warrior, you will have no other choice but to fight to the end. Even when you are ganked while questing, you can't run.

that's true about every other class besides rogue =p

and this is true more so with warrior than rogue, you REALLY need good weapons. not having the best weapon there is is like... having my mom drive a ferrari.
