Ive searched and searched and figure since many people on here provide solid advice on everything else WoW related, why not this. I need a good gaming headset. I was using a friends crappy logitech non adjustable/ half busted model and now because of our guild starting to run BWL/MC I need an upgrade.
Looking to spend less than $70 on one, unless someone can suggest something amazing for a little more. Links if you feel like providing them, otherwise a names will help enough.
Appreciated in Advance-

I love my Medusa Surround Sound headphones, which are slightly above your target price:
Medusa-USA (http://www.medusa-usa.com/medusa-51-original-single-user-p-782.html)
I purchased the pair of headphones in the OEM packaging for about 20 dollars more.

Ouch, the sound quality on those Medusas is shocking. When I am playing on headphones, I use my good ol' DT100s, far less colouring of the sound, far less distortion, far crisper. They're also more comfortable. There's a version of these with a boom mic, but that would probably be outside the OP's budget, these are studio monitors, after all.
Personally, I have a little Logitech headset, and it is adjustable, fits my funny-shaped head just fine. I only use it for the voice chatter, all other sound gets routed through the normal amp and speakers attatched to my primary sound card. It's a pretty lowfi solution, but works fine. My headset actually came free with a playstation 2 game, but I found that it worked perfectly plugged in as a USB audio class device under windows :)
Trying to find a set of "gaming headphones" with a mic, that don't sound like total crap is a futile pursuit, especially on a budget. It's better, imho, to accept that due to the compression used on the VoIP program, the voice chat will be fairly low fi anyway, and use a VoIP headset on one ear, and just make whatever arrangements normally suit you, for the main sound in all its spatially-correct (ish) glory.
Given that most VoIP programs only compress in a bitrate sense, and not in a dynamics sense, this is useful, because you can't readily mix the VoIP chatter and the game sound effects and hear both clearly, except at slightly annoying volumes- the danger of arghspikes is quite large. I get to keep the sense of immersion, and also hear what the raid is up to..

I've personally been using what's currently termed the Plantronics GameCom 1, for almost two years now. Rather happy with it, better sound than my speakers ever delivered that's for sure.
They should've seriously dropped in price since they originally were released. Might even be within your budget range. Dunno.

I personally love this logitech headset http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=2272,CONTENTID=6339
It's rather cheap and normally can pick it up at Walmart. Been using it for around 6 months.

Don't buy a Labtec LVA-8550. That's the one I have. Disappointed me in almost every way imaginable.

I've been using the Zalman 5.1 headset for a while now and love them. They are above your specified price range though. They sound good in gaming and music and are remarkably durable. The only downside is there is no built-in MIC, but you can buy one that clips onto the cord for under $10.

Check out the Plantronics DSP-500 headset. It goes for $46 on amazon and is a steal, been using it for about 2 months now. Good sound and very comfortable...

30$, it beats my previous 50$headset (cant remember brand though). You dont need a 5.1 headset unless you wanna watch a movie or something on your comp. That headset is extreeeemely light, very soft and decent/good sound. I sometimes plug my dads 250$ headset in the comp and it is better but not much  (not much better for WoW and voip ofcourse!)

I bought a pair of eDimensional Audio FXs (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16836504001) for myself and my wife. With 2 very active kids running around, they have take a lot of abuse and keep on sounding great. Neither the "force feedback" nor the LED lights have ever worked for my wife or me, but that hasn't bother us in the least.

I'm pretty happy with mine. I usually just put it around my neck and have the mic aimed up, also comfortable.

I don't use a headset, but I just thought it was hilarious when I opened up the worldofwar homepage, and the recent forum posts list on the top right said, "Recommendations on good head..."
K, I'm done.
