Good level to switch from Mining to Herbalism?

I am currently a level 14 gnome mage in loch modan. :afro: :afro: :afro: :afro:

I have gotten mining and skinning both up to 100+ and made 2+ gold.

I was wondering what level or what area would be good to switch from mining to herbalism?

If you are really intent to switch from mining to herbalism, I don't think there is any better level than the one you are at now. Unless I am missing something here...

Hrm...

But mining iron and copper makes me loads of money and I didn't think herbs would do the same. But maybe I could sell different ones at the AH? If so, can I know what ones. :grin:

But I knew herbs raked in the cash endgame and such.

I have noticed that mining does tend to net a slightly bigger profit than herbalism on most servers, with the possible exception of swiftthistle. Swiftthistle is a nice early money maker for herbalists, and a stack of 20 easily goes for 5 gold or more.

Why don't you do it the safe way and make an alt with herbalism?

For the early levels mining definately surpasses herba in the moneymaking department. I think that changes a bit once you get a bit later in the game though.

Mine barely gets 5 or 10. Haha, still alot, but yah I've read multiple threads about this stuff and decided to switch to herb. =)

Stick with mining till lvl 40, then get a mount and fast track your herb skill.

When you get to things like fadeleaf you can make 10 - 13 g a stack on my server, and most other go for around 5 - 10 g a stack.

Plus being lvl 40 and having your mount you dont have to worry to much about agro in the areas you can get decent herbs.

I mined and skinned my way to 60, and kept skinning. Switched from mining to herbs a month after hitting 60, and WHAM...started to clear real money...Black Lotus sells for 19-21g on my server...And I can get one every day or so.

Making the alt is a good idea. I have a priest alt that is an herbalist/alchemist...She makes many pots that are useful to many...including my alts and main.
