Alright, my brother had a WoW account, but he's giving it to me as an early b-day present. I already know how to change the e-mail address from his to mine by calling the number, but I was wondering if there would be a problem with me doing this before I even try. Thank you

You can do all this at the official website. The account will always be in your "brothers" name but you can change payment and contact info at the account management section of the official site.

If this isnt really your brothers account I would be careful because the owner can at any time take it back by calling the number. This is a common scam by people that sell accounts. Im not saying you bought this account, and if it is indeed your brothers you have nothing to worry about.

its much easier on the website to... getting ahold of blizzard is like finding El Dorado....

I would like to offer a small bit of advice on this.... If your brother has any characters, you might want to 'experiment' with them, but when it comes to playing a character/class, please start from level 1 and go from there. I know it is VERY tempting to have a "uber" character, but what a large majority of people fail to realize is that the experiance you gain from playing levels 1 to 59 are what either make you or break you at level 60.... And to be 100% honest, a lot of the community will look down a bit on you if you simply 'take over' another character.....

If this is not really your brothers account, please do not go through with this... I would hate to see your WoW experiance tainted by either violating the terms of use (purchasing account) or by having the original owner "taking back" his account in order to 'resell' it... and yes, that is a common thing to have happen....

It would consist of endless hours on hold. Other than that who knows.

from someone who has been there and bought the game off someone else, believe me it's not worth the grief if the account goes wrong. Do as i have now done and buy it yourself. Start everything in your own name. You gain peace of mind and the knowledge needed to play the game at higher levels.
WOW won't allow you to change the registered email on the original game so don't waste your time on hold on the phone to them. They do however responde to emails and all my dealings with them have been quick and helpfull.
