My dr00d alt has mining and I thought I might take advantage of its aquatic form for mining if there are any zones where veins are likely to be found in any real quantity. So far I have explored around Ratchet/Merchant Coast and found nary a one.
Are there any areas which tend to have some concentration of underwater veins or is it a rare find to see one?

Insane spawns of i belive mithril off the coast in desolace, near the naga islands, its one of the spots where theres just insane amounts, but noone goes there since its pretty far offcoast, and underwater, making it hit, go up, go down, hit , go up etc

I discovered today that there is often substantial spawning of copper and tin within the Barrens oasis pools, but you hardly need aquatic form to get to those quickly.
Thanks for the note about Desolace. I'll look into that when I am a little bit higher level.

yeah, most underwater veins is probably oasis in the barrens, but theirs usally pockets of bubble next to them so you dont even need to hold your breath.

Some Mithril and Thorium in Azshara, but that's shallow waters anyway.

You have to contend with elite giants in Azshara if you go swimming :)

There's some Mithril and Iron near Faldir's Cove in Arathi Highlands.
Expect to have to fight Nagas over 'em.

This would be more challenging for a Horde, but for an Alliance miner, the big lake in Loch Modan is full of copper veins. Watch out for those loch ness monsters swimming around if you're lower level.

Hmm... I went down to ashara yesterday to do the rubbing the pillar/call the airplane quest, and swam out to the airplane. I saw the gaints but no thorium. I did find a rich thorium vien sitting on the seashore though.
Any particular place in those shallow giant infested waters?
