Migration Question for Burning Crusades

Hi,

I want to know if anyone has the scoop on this one, I haven't heard anyting about it. When the Expansion comes out I believe they will have server migrations. But what I want to know, will you have the choice to Migrate from a PVE server to a PVP Server? Like I know they won't mix up PVP servers migrating with PVE ones,

Because I really really want to go to a PVP server, but I really don't want to invest the time in releveling an alt up to 60 since my first isn't even 60 yet.

People who built up characters on a PVP server would be really ticked if people got to transfer to that server from a PVE server. This might be different for a brand new server that was known to be open to such transfers from the beginning.

I personally don't like the idea of server switching no matter who it is or how it's done.

It's been mentioned that there will be no PvE to existing PvP realms, they may however set up a new PvP realm with the understanding that they will allow PvE moves to it first - seems like a fair compromise. (Sorry, i tried to find the info on the official forums but they are just brutal - no search etc, i think it was in last weeks - May 19th weekly summary thing).

they recently made a brand new pvp relm that you could only transfer into (no new chars the first few weeks) and all the transfers were from existing high pop pve relms, but other that there have not been any transfers from PvE to existing PvP and with good reason. Ezmode lvling to 60 then transfer and gank lowbies? I don't think so buddy, you want a 60 on a PvP relm you pay your dues and lvl it up.

If you REALLY want to go PvP, then go... there is nothing to stop you, and if you have not reached 60 on your other server, that is even MORE reason to do it now... That way you are not leaving so much behind...

OMG so are you saying I missed the transfer? I'm going to kick myself in the TEETH if I missed that transfer...

But if you're saying that they WILL do this but have not done it yet, or it will be implemented when BC comes out, then I feel much much better.

they did it about 2 months ago, it wasn't available to all pve relms, just 5 or so of the high pop (overcrowded) ones

You got it the wrong way around. Changes from PvP to PvE will be considered since it is essentially going from "hard" to "easy" (just as an outrageous simplification).
Allowing people to switch from PvE to PvP is not to be expected as far as I understand.

True, EXCEPT there has been mention that with paid transfers (expected this summer), there MAY be a new (not existing) PvP realm created specifically to allow PvE transfers thus allowing the transfer to PvP without offending existing PvP players.

See this is what I'm talking about.

I think it's an awesome idea. Some ppl like me get attached to their Toon, in the sense that you just can't motivate yourself other than this one. I've made alts, none of them reached lvl 15, I'd rather play on my NE Hunter.

BTW, I don't care if being a NE is falling into some sort of band-wagon. I've always played an Elf, in DnD and any other game, so it only makes sense to play one here in WoW.
