Bargain Shoppers!!

I have been saving up for my mount (and my fiance's mount since for some reason he is incapable of amassing any kind of gold stash) and last night I really started using the bidbroker function on Auctioneer.

This will be my 3rd server and my second time starting over from scratch and buying mounts (2nd server I was a warlock) and I have found making cash on my new server a little more difficult than it was on my old established one.

At anyrate last night I had hit 120g on my toon and 78 on my fiance's. (I mail him gold sometimes so that I know where we both stand) I did my scan and then /auctioneer bidbroker and 10 minutes later I am shaking, in need of a drink and down to 60 gold. It's like an addiction. That said I am the proud owner of a tanglewood staff for 8g ... I am not a druid. Elvish Chain boots for 15g ... I am not an elf (I am a hunter though so I may not turn those over) a Blackflame cape for 10g and against all reason a pair of lvl 32 mail golves for 4silver. (among many other things I also picked up 2 dark runes for 1g and a large opal for 28silver etc etc)

I am thinking that I can't keep on bargain shopping like this until I get my mount but the thrill of the shop is calling to me! (I ordered a pair of shoes online today because they were really cheap)

Help me out and post tales of your bargains so that I can live vicariously through you all and not wind up buying today's woot though I really don't need voip phones.

That is how I make a bit of cash also on my guys... I browse the AH for awesome deals, then turn around and raise the price 5-10%....

That is the main idea, like I bought a swiftness pot recipe for 2g and sold it for 14 which was server standard ... That's how I got the 120g to begin with, basically mousing over interesting things to see if they were a good deal or not. It is the bidbroker function that now holds me captivated ... it is like the sunday paper sales fliers, some with coupons!!! :grin:

I was just wanting to see if anyone else was using this function sucessfully and also to brag about those boots and see what other folks are looking for and buying up cheap.

I buy and sell all the time, i know where you are coming from Cyradis.

I typically invest 10-20% of my gold or up to 50 items whichever comes first.

I had to implement those limits on myself after blowing about 50% of my gold on items in one shopping spree. Yeah, all the items sold but it was pretty silly.

heh i have 40 arcanite bars, and another 10 crystals, i was saving so i could pimp out my warrior alt when he finally hit the late 50's, but is there something else i should be saving them for, i didnt see anything in the patch that would warrent a price boost of the arcanite bars. Although i am on a newer server, aq isnt even open yet

Arcane Crystals (not the bars, mind) are required for attunement to Naxxramas for those who don't have Exalted reputation with AD.

Actually if your honored or revered not exalted with AD I think I read you can pay like 20-30 gold and attune but exalted is free attune

Tier 3 armor will be on a token system like ZG and AQ20. Arcane Crystals and Arcanite Bars will be needed to make them depending on the class. For example, the Paladin tier 3 set will cost a total of 20 Arcanite Bars to make.

So I'd hang on to them to unload after the patch goes in.

if you are exalted attunement is free
if you are revered it's some gold + some arcane crystals + some nexus crystals
if you are honored it's more gold + more arcane crystals + more nexus crystals
i don't think you can get attuned if you are only friendly or neutral (or below i suppose), in which case you'd have to run through Undead Stratholme first (like you used to have to run BRD before you could zone into MC before they added attunement)

arcanite bars + cured rugged hides + mooncloth will be used to complete tier3 armor pieces

Dirty mind! I meant Feminine Wiles as in wiley females as in sneaky evil women. Besides willies also means creepy feelings - like "Jinkies Scooby, old man Robins gives me the willies!"
