Ok now lets be honest... How many of you have seen the red name bar in the distance and casually make your way towards it to see that its a lady, and leave her be? I think people roll chics because they think they can charm their way out of being ganked. Why just the other day I was in badlands when I seen a lvl 40 female rogue. Well she was getting ganged up on by the ogres so I proceeded to lay waste to them. I then /waved and was on my way...Not even 10 min later I see another girl jump off her epic mount and chain gank me. At first it was just her, didnt matter she was a 60 (8lvls higher than me) but her friends joined in(all 60's). I hope when I hit 60 I have better things to do than camp someone 8 lvls lower than me. I think im getting off track...KILL ALL GIRLS YOU SEE, THEY ARE JUST AS EVIL!!!

Getting ganked isn't fun at all...I don't really think it is supposed to be.
I have no problem with it when it is someone within 5 levels of me. Most of the time it is one or multiple level 60's. I quickly realized there was nothing I could do against them so normally i'll /sit or /sleep after they kill me they'll move on. If they see that i'm not going to get aggrevated about it.

Several main reasons for rolling a female toon:
1. "Better" pixels to look at. As Cy put it, 'jiggly bits' are supposedly more rewarding to be staring at for likely several years. I dont understand pixel love.
2. More attention from your faction. Unfortunately this isnt always a good thing.
3. Monetary compensation from others. It sounds crazy, but the amount of lonely men that play mmorpgs is astounding (weve all seen some of the classic cyb0rz threads of people getting busted). Boys (and often men) can, and often will, give gold/items/help to female toons as long as they believe the player to also be female.

There fixed it for you. Course it's also one of the reasons why we marry them.

Yeah I always assume female toons are men with a fetish. And even if I know for a fact it is a female I have no hesitation in putting them under my sword. Their blood isn't any harder to wash out than a male's.

This reminds me of a report i saw on the evening news a while back. It was a pretty simple experiment.
A gentleman walking down the sidewalk accidently had his briefcase come open losing a lot of papers out of it. People continued walking by and basically didn't pay any attention at all.
A woman did the same thing and people were jumping all about trying to help her.

Yea I always fall victim to the ladies...I really ought to keep this under control being married and all.

Most females in WoW are males irl... exept Tauren and Dwarves, I suppose.
Its just another player, why care?

I kill girls with glee ... then again I am not swayed by the female form.
Actually the ones I really really like to gank are humans and Nelfs .... and Gnomes ... sometimes dwarves but mainly Nelfs and humans. Gender doesn't really play into it but for some reason Nelf females seem to be the most satisfying.

Hey, not all girls on Wow are really guys and not all girls are evil:tongue: . I am a real female who plays females and I am not evil....well, not much anyway .
Of course, I would be insulted if you spared me for being female. I won't spare your character just cause I like his butt so don't spare me cause you like my jiggly bits.
Of course, if I'm polite to you and you gank me out of spite, I might get a little annoyed at you.

Gender IRL does not equate to gender IG. I currently have 4 male toons made and you can bet the next one is going to be a girl, simply for a bit of variety on the usual "I can't attack that!" voiceovers and how clothes, weapons and armour look.
If I make a decision whether or not to kill someone, gender isn't ever going to come into it. I'm certainly not going to stand there long enough to evaluate their gender, size up how "jiggly" they are before debating whether or not to kill them.

I say whatever...
If a guy plays with a female toon, that's fine... as long as he doens't start acting and chatting like a girl. Or telling everyone that he's a girl irl. I'm up front, I got a girl toon, cuz initially my g-f and I played the same toon, she wanted a girl NELF and I was like "whatever I dont' care, as long as you want to play!" Then she got her own game, so I continued with Seeo... just got really attached to my toon. But I'm upfront, IF someone asks, I'll tell them, Seeo (me) is a guy, Otep is the girl, and we are together.
Back on subject, don't hold back if it's a female nelf or human, they probably will use that to their advantage.
Oh and one thing... the more emotes the Female Player does, the more chances it is at being a girl. Girls always seem emote-crazy. Just like they are with their smilies.

You do know what the RPG bit in MMORPG stands for, don't you?

Now on THIS I can agree with you. Most people who meet me on my mage assume I'm female, and not because of the way I look. If asked, I tell them straight away that I am actually male, and 9/10 they express shock. And it's not because I /giggle, /flirt or /kiss every chance I get. The usual reaction is "but you're so nice and helpful, I just assumed you must have been a girl in real life". Now that's something to chew over. If I'm a dick to everyone I meet people assume I'm really male. If I don't act like an obnoxious teenage pvp junkie and treat strangers with respect until they show they don't deserve it, people assume I'm female. What does that say about the male of the species?

RED
IS
DEAD
Simple Rule, easy to follow....
The only time I have a problem with it is when the RED doesn't want to be DEAD.... Sometimes it gets to the point where RED wants ME dead.... I try hard to convince them, but sometimes they just don't listen.... Which is OK, except in winterspring when its a LONG run from the graveyard :) LOL LOL
*EDIT* Forgot to mention, my Troll Hunter is a Female toon... I was tired of the hunchback look of the Orc/troll men, so I made her a "chick" toon.... And yes, whenever I am nice and helpful, people ASSUME I'm a girl....
The gender of a character has no effect on my choice to gank it. But thats mostly because I dont gank anyone anyway. But if I do see a member of the opposite faction getting out of line I am inclined to think its a guy behind the controls and beat the **** out of him. That ofcourse leads to what Calli said:

Good point. If a female character acts like a jerk I just think that its a guy. But if the character is polite, and manages to type whole words and complete sentences I tend to think its a girl. Ive never thought about that before, but in retrospec it might have something to do with the fact that most females I meet, both in game and in real life, are usually well behaved, polite and have good language skills. Guys on the other hand may have neither of those qualities.
Definatly food for thought......

I'm not into PvP but i don't really spend too much time thinking about the sex of the player or dwelling on the sex of the avatar.

Just realized that in my hurry to try a hunter last night I may have even made a NE female as I turn the graphics down to play faster and do not even notice the difference unless I bother to look carefully.....

Just last night I found myslef helping a female NE druid. I think thats what she was, she kept shifting into a black cat....Anyways she was only level 24 and It was quite obvious that she was building up her skinning. So after she relized I wasnt going to gank her she followed me around skinning all the mobs I killed. I would grab 5or6 and AoE them loot and wait for her skin...move on. I actually was able to stop some of my fellow horde from attacking her, but some just insisted on ganking her. It was all in fun. I didnt feel bad for her when she did get ganked...you have to expect it when in Killsbrad.

I am a male in real life. I played a male human toon for six months straight. Now I have a female gnome and a female dwarf. Why? Differences in everything. And cause I wanna.
I have, on a pvp server, a male orc warriror, and a female undead priest.
Variety is the spice of life. I don't even mention that I am dude playing a girl until someone addresses me in that gender specific format, i.e. M'lady etc... then I say hey I am dude.

I think the only character I would roll as female would be a priest. And that's just because all the priests gear looks like doll dress-up clothes.

I agree with the priest comment, except for the boney undead. All the male toons are drawn too beefy to play a preist, mage etc..
I see a caster class as a skinny but powerful person. Like in them dragonlance books.

Hahaha being a priest, I have a nice solution to ganking girls. I'll just go up and mindcontrol them and ask them if they are really a girl or just a guy. If they are a guy, I'll kill them, if not, I'll be chivalrous and buff them and go on my way. :-D

Yes. I am a female "IRL". A 49 year old nun. While I do not play on a PVP server (until character transfers. It just seems too hard to level up on a pvp server) I do participate in raids. When I go out on a guild raid the last thing I worry about is what the gender of the toon is dancing around at the other end of town hurling frost bolts at me. I click on the toon. Is it flagged for PVP? Is is my level or below? Is it way above me but I have guild back up? If the answer is yes....blast away and who cares that the gender of the toon is. The last raid I went on I blasted away a level 20 gnome with my level 45 troll hunter. There was the gnome. Flagged. All alone in the middle of the street. Did I suspect a trap? You bet. Send in the boar. Blast away. I still don't know what gender the gnome toon was.
Evil? Wow. I hope not. "IRL" I am a nun.
