the only thing that gets me about some of the younger people that play WOW is they can be really rude and stuck up for the stupidest reasons. Just last night ther was this one girl that asked for help and when somebody tried to but failed she started really going at him so I told her if she didn't want bad advice then to shut up and go look on the internet for it and quit being so rude. No one is going to want to help someone that acts like that.
Then you get the horny ones that run around hitting on your character "I would like to see what's under all that armor." Eww! get away already. that's just way too weird. I don't get the whole online dateing thing...

Also guilty of forums at work. If I'm on the computer at home, I'm playing WoW
35 here, wife is 38 and played for awhile but quit because it just encouraged me to play more, which irritated her hehe
Work and family definitely cut down the available gaming time, but I play games in lieu of watching TV, which I find to be just too mind-numbingly inane these days.

I’ve gotten my gf into quiet a bit of nerdy stuff, and she has taught me how to present myself better, such as little things as dress nicer, and to shop at stores like express. I must say I do like my new style much better then the jeans and T-shirt I’m used to wearing :D But so far no video games. Tried to teach her to play halo once, she didn’t take too kindly to that. I love my gf to death but I’m secretly jealous of couples that play WoW together. :P We live in different states so this would be a good way for us to spend some extra time together, because I’m going to be playing this game anyways. So I was wondering for the guys out there, how did you “trick” your significant other into playing this game. And for the girls out there what do you think would be a good way to convince her to try this game.
Convincing a girl to go out with me, I can do it blind folded, wearing a clown costume. But getting her to play this game, which I love, requires a certain something that I seem to be lacking….
BTW in 19
Hope this forum picks up again, as I think its very intersting.
dating gf from HS and then went to college? some girls are just not into games :p if it makes you feel any better my hot and hardcore gamer ex-gf and i broke up. /shrug
but no i didn't try to get her into gaming, she's always loved FF, D2X, GTA and a bunch of other games. and Happycow... she's not as hardcore a gamer (yet, muhaha), but she also used to play alot of CS and C&C so gaming isn't entirely new to her.
***
i think the biggest benefit of having a gamer gf is that you don't get nagged on HOW much time you play. i think it's imortant that couples have different hobbys and spend at least some time apart (well, not a problem for you :p).

Wow if you wife can't understand you you need to do one of the following:
1. Get a new hobby
2. Get a new wife
3. Seek out people in game that are husband and wife, tell your wife about them.
4. Play less with Wow and more with your wife
5. Get a bikini wax (Yeah I know your a dude)
6. Take up another hobby in addition to WoW
7. Try to beat Dance Dance Revolution on 5 Feet Mode
8. Take your wife to Thailand and pay more then a dollar for lobster
9. Become a millionaire
10. Read every single post by KCMA. Then read them backwards.
Ok so don't do #2, try a mix of the rest. I'm sure you met your wife PWoW. (Pre-World of Warcraft). If you were a closet geek/nerd and never told her...you are screwed and better fix it.
(Took me 6 months into dating to tell my now wife that I played 40K. Took 2 years of marriage for her to realize "I REALLY like" videogames. Took 2 months of WoW for her to hate the game, and 6 months more for her to join me!)
Marriage = Perseverance + Sacamawidget (Haven't learned the last part yet...)
or send your wife to kcma. i can help.

Wow you guys are way off.
The following is a better representation of relating womens enjoyment of ______ as guys enjoy video games:
Chick Flick
Meaningful Conversation (with Friends)
Friedndly Get togethers
Shopping (with no limits)
Reading a good book
Cuddling with an item other then a SO (like a bear/blanket/etc.)
If you say _____ is to women as video games to guys = Death
Dating
Flowers/Candy
Talking about feelings
Meaningful Conversation (with SO)
Cuddling
Back Rub
Getting away
anything that can be conceived as a replacement for your gf/wife.
anything that can be conceived as a reason to not be with your gf/wife.
and if you use these as an excuse as to why you play...as in I least I don't:
Drink
go to Gentlemen Clubs
Read Mens Mags
Smoke
Use Drugs
Go to the bar
Go to sporting events
cheat on gf/wife
Seriously the only way to get her to truely understand is to ask her what needs she has that are outside her relationship with you, then tell her you have the same desires. If her "things" are more physical, then relate the feeling of doing the physical things as to the feeling of playing video games. It also helps, if in your relationship, you are meeting each others needs in the realtionship.
My wife plays wow after intially protesting. The times she bug me about playing is when she feels her other needs are not met. (some times I can win points by buying her in game gear to tool out her toon.)

So KCMA your reapplying for you NAMBLA card or what?
Yeesh.
US should raise the age of consent to 21. At least you can legally be irresponsible and not get anyone else in trouble. (Legal Drinking age is 21 in the States. Buying booze for people under the drinking age is punished pretty hard.)
but it's next to impossible to get caught buying underaged kiddies alcohol -_-
unless you're flirting with the underage looking undercover narks :p
***
well, happycow is legal age :p i'm off the hook :D
