I had the oddest dream a few nights ago about playing a Worgen. I awoke thinking ’Man, how cool would that be?’ The really fun part about it was that the race was neither horde nor alliance… well actually it was both. The character had two forms. In one for it was a feral looking human which aided the alliance. Later on it shifted to the classic werewolf model in the game and was on the Horde’s side.
I know this is never going to happen but I have none the less been fleshing the idea out in my head. It would need some clear limits on when it could shift. I though would be cool to have it change when the moon rose but that would annoy many people who want to be with their friends but couldn’t due to time of day. Also creates room for cheesy tactics (Have small army wait city or BG in until time for shift and then boom enemies everywhere. Could also make rule that can't shift in city or instance.)
I think a 60 minute cooldown to shift back would work fine. Long enough to make it tough to pounce on unwary foes but not so long as you couldn’t switch back to quest with friends if you watched your timing.
Here is the part I’m not sure if is fair. Such a char could actually quest for bott Alliance or Horde specific items.
Lastly because it was part of the dream will tell you the cool ability it had. Much like a fighter’s charge the worgen had Bound, leaping onto it’s enemies. Fighter worgen could Charge and Bound, doubling thier attack range. Not sure if the ability would help anyone but fighters and rouges but was very cool visually (or at least was in my semi-conscious imagination)
When the debate for the hidden alliance race was going on did anyone flesh out Worgen as a possibility? If so I’d love to read what they came up with. Post links if you have any please or tack on any suggestions you think would be cool for this pointless but potentially cool new race idea.
