disenchanting advice!

Although I've got a couple of lvl 60 toons, I've just started with a char that can disenchant/enchant

I have two disenchanting questions:

1. are there levels of disenchanting skill or only the one you get at the beginning.

2. how do you decide what items to disenchant vs which to sell in AH?

chisolm if you get the auctioneer package and the enchantrix mod it will show you what mats an item will DE into and also the value of the item if Disenchanted. Auctioneer will also help you find cheap green or blue items to de.

1) If you can DE, skill does not matter. A level 5 enchanter can DE an Epic.

2) This one will take a little market savvy. DE stuff that will not sell well in the AH. If you have mail armor of spirit, or cloth of defense, or are Horde and get some obviously pally plat, or Alliance and get some obviously Shammy mail, DE it. If it is a green over lv 50, DE it (people are buying/questing/looting for blues at 50+, posting them on the AH is just flushing your deposit down the drain). Enchantrix will also help with the decision making.
