Just wanted thoughts on what prof would be best for a warrior that is non-guild and wants to play BG. I was thinking of herb/alch to make pots for battle and sell either pots/herbs on AH for money to help buy "stuff". Any thoughts or opinions on this? Thanks in advance!

Tailoring/enchanting! (jk, herb/alch would be best, though engineering/mining could have its advantages as well.)

I have looked at engineer a lot lately and I really like the things that go boom... It would certainly add a ranged component to everything. Actually, I have been looking to get some EZ Throw dynamite to toss when I get rooted...
But Herb/alchemy would be nice.

Engineering. By far.
Potions don't persist through death (except flasks and they're expensive, use TONS of mats, and require a visit to Scholo to make) and given the amount of times a warrior will die in a BG, it might not be practical for you.
Engineering offers near-instant-cast stuns, which help against flag runners (and their priest/paladin buddies in a 5-yard radius), flag cappers (and any others trying to cap the same flag), and groups of people (AV is notorious for that). Not to mention net projectors, mechanical defenders (perfect against casters), mind control...the possibilities are nearly endless.
I'm 300 herb/300 alch and I regret not going engineering. A warlock with bombs is HELL to try and defeat.

Id only go engineering though if I was
1) 60
2) had alot of money
3) had time to put up with the frustration of powereleveling it.
If I was under 60 however and didnt have a main toon sponsoring me I would go herb (for money) and Alch (for PvP).

I have a 60 lvl mage that is mining/herb. Would it be more time effective/cost effective for him to gather mats and send to lowbie warrior who could be specd w/ engineering/alch?? Please gives me yer thoughts/opinions!!

sounds good if your happy farming with your mage and supplying your crafting professions on your alt, go for it.

Having a high-level (especially with an epic mount) gather mats for a low-level crafter is a great idea for everything except Engineering, unless you don't plan on sending your creations to the 60 main.

True, but there are a few reciepes that are BOP that a low level crafter simply will not be able to get. For Alchemy, the top end mana potion comes to mind. Having a low level crafter (and by low, I mean 35 so as to get artisan skill) is great...I have 2...one alch/engi, and one tailor/chanter, but there are limitations.
