I'm a lv 20 preist that isn't sure what Trade skill to take. I have been working on engeneering, but I hate it. I know that tailoring would be helpfull, but is obveous and boring. I don't really have a clue what to do.
I also want to get a skill that WILL MAKE ME A huge amount of money, cause as a preist, i won't be able to grind instances once i reach lv 60. I also want to get one that could help a guild that really has every possable trade skill.
Another question, should I bother doing first aid, fishing, or cooking?:ponder:

imo it's always good to level your Fishing, First Aid, and Cooking as they each have their own purposes in their own right ....
as for making money ... mining and herbalism have always been the tried and true ways of filling your pockets ...
I'm most likely still in the same boat as you are ... trying to make money to be able to afford the costs associated with crafting professions, so as far as what to go with I'm probably going to go with Enchanting ....
second thought ... I've created an alt specifically for gathering and making money so that I can support my main with crafting professions

I used skinning as one of my sources of income, i found most of the beasts i killed i could skin so it was a pretty steady flow of income. I found running around looking for nodes, and or herbs to pick was very tedious.

Tailoring doesn't make you much money... you make some on bags, but it just takes too much cloth to raise it up. I also conflicts with first aid because you need cloth for both.
Two gathering professions will make you buko bucks. Herb/Mine is nice except for the fact that you only can have 1 of the tracking skills on at once. You should get yourself a couple of mods... Gatherer remembers where the herbs/mines are that you have picked/mined. Another one I need to go lookup again will constantly switch between find herbs/find minerals every few seconds.
If you don't want to deal with all of that, go for herblism/skinning. Skinning is the easist of the gathering professions because if you kill it, it's one more click to skin it.
Now of course my real opinion on the matter is herb/alc. Herblism levels quickly because you get 1 pt per herb picked and certain areas are very herb rich... much more so then mineral rich. Pots require less stuff to make, so you raise quickly... plus are consumable so you'll always find poeple on the ah to buy.
I just wish I knew this when I started my main... tailoring/mining is only so-so useful. I currently make Cenerian herb bags for 22-28g a pop... my only real money maker. The reason for this is the recipe requires you to be friendly with the Cenerian Circle... which is not easy unless you're a druid. Anything with mooncloth goes well, but creating mooncloth has a 4 day!!!! cooldown. So you can make 20ish gold on a bag once every 4 days... not so good.

WoW, thats a lot.
So, would a enchanting and Herbalism be a good combo?

Disenchanting and herbalism maybe.
Enchanting really doesn't bring a lot of money till you get the more 'unique' enchantments that not everyone and their mother has.

Disenchanting can make a load of money. As you level you'll be replacing so many Soulbound greens... and be picking up so much stuff you won't use and is pretty worthless at AH too (shield with +shadow damage anyone?). Most people usually have it on an alt though. You can level enchanting to 50 or so just by DEing. Personally, I wouldn't bother until 60.

So, would Skinning or Herbalism make more money:ponder:

Just do skinning and herbalism. At lvl 20, it is unlikely that your enchanting will bring in more money vs just vendoring useless/outdated greens.

Hey Shining Death, I'm a poor priest as well. Take my advice and pick skinning and herbalism or skinning and mining. Forget tailoring and forget enchanting. If you need the crafted products, just buy them from AH with the cash you will rake in from gathering.
