Non-Gamers really do say the darnest things sometimes. It cracks me up to no end listening to people who don't emerse themselves into the gaming community talk about it.

What are the funniest things you have ever heard come out of people's mouths?? I need a good laugh.

The other day I was out back with my fiancee tending the horse and his brother stops by to hang out for a min and drop his truck off. I'm not sure how we got to the point but he said to me, "Did you know there are games that never end and you can get seriously addicted to them??"
I paused for a minute and looked to my fiancee who would have been asking the same question if it wasn't for me in his life, and gave him this look like, 'Are you kidding me?!?'
I tell him they're called MMORPGs and that they tend to bring people into an addiction in a sense.
He says, "Oh, wow, well did you know people kill themselves over it??" I tell him there has been speculation of that sort of thing happening but haven't actually heard a true story of a situation like that.
"Yea those games I heard are real bad for you." I turn and grin, "Well then I guess I must have a problem on my hands if I've been playing the genre for 7 years then huh?"
Fiancee went in a lughing fit after that.

Or the grandest one of all time. I used to hang out in a local EBGames store a lot. November 9th was it when Halo 2 came out? Anywho, there were the signs posted 30 times in the store November 9th! Halo 2!

...And we still got people walking in asking, very cool like if you can imagine, "Hey man, you uh, got any copys of Halo 2?? We can't seem to find it." And it wasn't just clueless parents looking for birthday presents, no, none of them. It was those gamers that only play Grand Theft Auto and a couple other "It's cool to play video games!" games.
"Uhm /points to a sign in 30 different places Not yet, sorry."

I had a jock buddy who used to tease me about playing MMO's and such. Well, one weekend I let him play WoW on my account while I was having a hiatus with my girlfriend. By the time I got back I had created a fellow gamer. He isn't 'hardcore' or anything, he has one character and its taken him the better part of a year to hit 60, but the fact I got his crazy football meat-headed arse into it at all was something I found halarious.

Hrmm I used to play a MUD when I was in school, and one of my friends watched me a few times and was totally mystified as to why i spent hours and hours watching text flowing across the screen. Anyway one time he tried to log on, got killed by some guard and was going on about it the next day, it was pretty funny, he ended up getting well into it as well.
