I'm a 60 priest and a 300 tailor on firetree. I also have enchanting, but just for the disenchant ability. When i was leveling up i made ALOT (relative) of money with tailoring and DI. For example, when i hit 40 i bought my mount, new spells, some new gear, and still had 80g leftover. After 40 i stopped doing it. I grinded to 60 and I've been raiding and farming since.

I want my epic mount now. I have 450g or so and currently i'm able to flip 3-4 mooncloth robes per week at a profit of 10g-40g each depending on how much i can get for it and how much i pay for the mooncloth. My question is...can anyone reccomend some higher level recipes that DI profitably? What i was doing at 40 would still work, but the profit isn't alot. It took me 3 months to make 180g. I want my mount yesterday. If not with tailoring, reccomend some farming locations?

Oh for anyone wondering, i was making red mageweave headbands at the end and DIing them. They use 4 mageweave bolts 2 red dye and 2 heavy silken thread, so roughly 1.5g if you buy the cloth. they have about a 1/3 chance to DI into greater nether essences. The greaters go for 6-8g on my server. The rest of the time they make dreamdust, usually at least 2 and up to 5. these sell for 5-6g a stack on my server.

Ex. If you make 12 of them, you'll spend roughly 18g (if you're buying cloth be scrupulous). you should get 4GNE's and lets say you get 6g each for them. thats 24g. and lets say you also end up with 2 stacks of dream dust, thats another 8g (lets be conservative) so on a 18g investment you make 14g profit. Not bad. The problem is getting enough mageweave to do it en masse. Thats why i want some bigger recipes, with more profit.

Sorry for the long post i didn't intend to write this much.

What did you mean by this?

This forum seems to have an abundance of threads of how to make or farm $, a lot of people aimed at their epic mount. I'll tell you how I do it.

Get the auctioneer mod, read up on how to use it while scanning the AH. After a few days your data will be fairly accurate. Then begin looking for bargains. For example over the weekend I purchased.

Necromancer Leggings -3g sold 65g
lil timmy's peashooter - 5g sold 25g
Mindseye circle- 10g sold 150g

With an investment of 18g, i made 240g minus the ah cut of about 5 g i think. So 235G profit easy money.

Is it hit and miss? Yes! but can be boring for a lot of people.

What did you mean by this?

What i mean is figure out what you can afford to pay and don't pay more. For example if you search the AH for runecloth you'll see people selling it for up to 2g50. you'll also find people selling it for 1g75. Buy the lower stuff and watch your margins.

You always make armor using tailoring. Therefore, essences are not as common as the dust, which explains why dusts go for lower prices than essences. Of course, since only blacksmiths make weapons and we all know blacksmiths sucks, essences will forever be priced higher than dusts.

That being said, I think you might want to try runecloth belts instead of mageweave headbands. Illusion dusts and greater eternals sell for more than dream and nether. Usually for runecloth, don't buy from AH but instead, watch your trade channel for bargains. Usually they sell 100 runecloth for 6-7g which is quite a bargain. Your mileage may vary.

I can never find runecloth for less than 1.5g per stack, most commonly 2g per stack on my server. Where can runecloth be farmed?

BRD or any instance higher is a good place to turn up runecloth. Plus you can get drops to D/E. I tend to run BRD a lot because it's pretty easy with a half way decent group and I always make a fair amount of coin from drops and come out with 4 stacks or more of Runecloth which I use to make heavy bandages for my lock... Can also sell the Dark Iron Residue to people trying to make honored with TB.

Other than that you can go to Ashzara and grind the elves and Satyrs... they drop a fair amount as well.

Well yeah then you're a bit away from grinding from Rune Cloth anywhere. I think the first area you'll really start seeing it is in Felwood from the Furlbogs, Satyrs and humanoids in Jadenar.

WPL turns out the greatest amount of Runecloth. I think Blizzard programmers made it that way because you need runecloth to do the cauldron quests in WPL.

WPL also seems to be the greatest concentration of world pvp on the server.

I think i'll farm something else for cash, then buy runecloth =D
