I have spent hours killing sprites and other cloth dropping creatures but it's takeing forever to get enough to really decently level. I thought about going and buying some off the AH but I want to know htat I am not buying it for a rip-off price.
How much would you pay for a 20 of linen cloth?
What other ways can you level tailoring faster than waiting for drops to get the materials?
And sorry if this does not make sense... I've got a fever right now so can't think very well.

1. get auctioneer and run a few scans to evaluate market price for mats.
2. price can vary by server, by day, by time of day.
3. like most manufacturing professions, it realy does not make any economic sense to have you main character a tailor. role playing is the only justification.
you should probably just gather with main character and create an alt that can tailor. your higher level character then can farm the cloth much faster.
There is a guide on this site describing the best places to get cloth.

Thanks. I guess it's better to start comeing here for advice. My fiance is the one who directed me towards tailoring with this Character. I have one that is a bit higher that I play more often but I am useing it to do skinning and herbalism.
Where can I find the auctioneer thing?

You can use our higher level character with skinning/herbalism to farm for cloth as well. You don't need a profession to get cloth. What level are your mains and alts. If you want free linen, you can farm for it at westfall defias (alliance) or Barrens centaurs (horde).

Right now my main is almost level 20. She has 1/4 a level bar to go. My other is borderline level 13 (I got bored of the main and played on the alt too much)

Don't buy any cloth off AH if you're a tailor - prices are a joke.
If you're not high-level enough yet to wade thru cloth-dropping-mobs to skill-up, then drop tailoring for now and pick a gathering profession.
Tailoring really don't make you any money if at all and is always poor value when compared to a gathering profession.

Yeah buying cloth is pricey... non-tailors use it for both bandages and rep cloth turnins... so the price can skyrocket.
The best way to level tailoring is to have 2 poeple do it. My wife and I both pooled our cloth so I could level it.
The only time I bought cloth was when I wanted to power-level tailoring to my next type of bag... An extra 8 bagslots is useful at times =]
