I saw a post a few days ago on the main boards about the best RP server. I can't seem to find it now, but I was wondering what you think the best server as far as people RPing, events and such is?

Hi there,
well I have tried out several, Steamwheedle Cartel (EU Server) is quite good to be honest. I think, just as on most servers, Goldshire is worst but except for that you can definately find some good RP using the general chat channels

If you play US...The venture Company is awesome. Lots of events, and a very entertaining group.
A few of us from this server have rolled on it....PM me if you want our info!

It's a nice server, but depends really if you wanna do it or not, i'm not into heavy rp, never tried heavy rp really to be exact.

Tanitha seems to be a heavy RP'er....iirc, on her paladin, any time she goes into a temple or cathedral, she kneels and stuff like that.
Some RP'ers take it to the extreme (see above link).
On TVC, if I get a buff from a class, I will usually respond something like "May the light/nature/gods guide you, priest/druid/other class." There are also times when I get bored of the grind and go out and do some RPing....but that usually lasts a few minutes.
I find RP'ing to be much much closer to the old D&D methods of playing...talking in old english, referring to the heritage of a player/class, etc.

Speaking in "Ye olde english" is just plain stupid, since it breaks the mood of the setting. You don't see any NPC spurting sentences like "Hast thou completed thine task?", do you?
No, the important thing is twofold:
- Talk in character as if you WERE the character.
- Be consistent.
Specially the last point are a pitfall many fall into. If you invent something for/about your character and then suddenly change it after a lot of players have observed your behaviour, you'd better have a darn good reason ingame for the change.

yeah although saying
"Thou shalt not pass!" is a bit more dramatic than, "You shall not pass!"
guess everyone knows I stole that from a certain short movie xP

If want RP, stay away from Lightninghoof. Once it was there, but alas it is dead.

It was Monty Python and The Holy Grail, and I'm pretty sure he said "None shall pass!"I was actually referring to LOTR, where Gandalf stops the Balrog. And yes, in The Holy Grail, it's "None shall pass" (the Black Knight)

My god! This topic can be for spaming posts!
I made the oreginal threat cos I am planing on looking for a RP realm and I decided on Scarshield Legion I know that this choice is stupid but RP/PVP talks to me more then plain RP... And my girlfriend wants to be a ganker there
And remmember that WoW it self is laughing at the real world:
-Booty Bay Goblin figure looks like Jesus for Rio(not sure about that but you know what I am talking about...)
-In Hyjial was a sign ''Blizzard under construction''
-If you manege to get somewere that is imposible for the first look you have a 60% chance to find a ''smile'' there :>
Talking in ''old'' english is the same type of RP as talking with ireish accent... I am planing to play a pladin with a strong anthypathy for ''longears'' something of a KKK from me to them (it will be funny cos my girlfriend is actualy playing an elve :>). For me RP is something that has to be screwed, stupid sometimes to make a good laugh nobody likes stiff RP players that cant lough at themselfs... Like my friend he got kicked out of 3 RP guilds cos he was teaching the GL about how to lead! (it was funny but a RP guild is like a king and his subcjects you just dont argue)... He is something that I call a to-good-rp-player-for-world-of-warcraft...

Tanitha is a Kiwi, the GM of Hakuna Matata (US - The Venture Co alliance guild), and an all-around nice lady.

Could some PM me the info for The Venture Co. I would like to play on it. Thanks.Err... what? The Venture Co. is an official server and it appears in the list. I can be wrong, but I suspect you somehow think we are talking about a private server here... Just to be on the safe side, let me inform you that we are a legit website and do not condone any form of cheating here, and that includes private servers.
Like I said, I can be wrong, but then I have absolutely no idea why you would resurrect this thread and what you are talking about.
