HehWell I am not even sure if that's it.. the part "Its head does not speak" doesn't seem to fit...

Chells

She got it. The head part refer sto the fact that arrowheads don't speak.

Ok ready for harder one?

Missing thumbs and way too long

Chells

:sunny: Not bad. Fits most but "missing thumbs" and the fact that thankfully Suns have no predators puts it in the close but no cigar category. keep guesses coming :listen:

Maybe a decpitated vampire Smurf that suffers from elephantitis?

Chells

Kempo
20-06-2006, 10:59 AM
Going out on a limb (no pun intended), a spider?

Atoz
20-06-2006, 06:03 PM
chicken fingers at MacDoogles.... to fit the riddle you can only get them at night time.

yavvy

Chells
23-06-2006, 02:58 PM
Sorry spaced thread again.

Kempo is close in a way. Spiders though have body's in sight and can't call the night.

Yes Pali it is an animal.

:duh: Why didn't I think of that Atoz... No

yavvy oddly enough that could work. Again though why state "No thumbs"

Jellyfish!

Long threads, fingers, no body but a big head, can't be seen in the dark.

Chells
23-06-2006, 06:19 PM
Not bad but using the dark is not the same as call it

I was thinking the 4 horseman at first

Four to make the bridges thunder

High challenges with the voice of a man (The rider on the Horse)

Low courses across the land (The horse, which is below the rider, runs across the land)

I just don't know what to do with

Two from which the blade can sunder

Death
War
Famine
Pestilence

War carries a sword, axe, etc. while Death carries a scythe. Two are armed with bladed weapons to separate you from life (Sunder) while Famine and Pestilence use different methods. That sounds about right, Time to Run.

Growing up my gramps gave me riddles all the time. Most of them were simple. He gave me one when I as about 7 years old. I refused to get help on it and FINALLY got it about 8 months later. It's unfortunate that (Like so many riddles) it has spread across the internet and has the answer easily accessible. Anywho....here it is:

2 poor brothers living in Tennessee are sent to the market to sell their freshly picked fruit. Because they were poor they had to walk. The get to a fork in the road with a house in the middle of it and don't know which way to go. Their fruit is about to spoil so they decide to go ask the people in the house. As they approach the house they read a sign that says:

BEWARE: Two brothers live in this house. One always tells the truth while the other one always lies. You may ask ONE question.

The brothers go up, knock on the door. A young man opens the door. What do you say/do?

tell him to get his brother, then
ask if they are brothers...
this would work two ways...if the child says he doesnt have a brother, he is the one that lies, if he gets his brother, then you know he may not be the liar, but asking if they are now, you will find out which one is the liar

brothers and sisters i have none, but this mans father is my fathers son. who is the man

What happens if you get the truthful guy? You head the wrong way.

What happens if you get the liar? You head the right way.

Nope.

both brothers take turns knocking on the door asking a question

How do you know who comes to the door?

JaTal
09-01-2007, 07:57 PM
You need to get into Double Negatives...

"Will your brother tell me the left fork is the road to take to the market"

If they say No, take the Left Fork

Yes, Take the Right

Another way to look at it is:

Which way would your bother tell me to go? Then go the opposite.

Same thing, just a bit clearer.
