Is anyone else on the EU servers getting this error whilst DL'ing the patch through the blizz downloader? It's reallly frustrating arghhhh!

mm it seems to me that my downloader is downloading it in game rather than in the patcher.

Yeah I got past that, then it goes on to the downloader afterwards >_< (luckily I used the background downloader before as that has cleared around 80% of it)> But now it is being incredibly slow at downloading the patch, almost not moving at all.

Mine spent about 45 minutes "updating" before it got to the downloader screen. I had already downloaded 127Mb (84%) and in the past 15 minutes it has downloaded 256Kb from the central server. I assume that since I got that 256k things are not screwed completely.

I do have a little decision to make - whether to reboot my router in order to forward the correct port for the downloader and risk having to sit through the "updating" screen for another 45 minutes.

85% (when stuck) - 100% took 5 min.

Bums. It's 12:30 BST by my clock, so I think thats 13:30 CEST and this message has just appeared on the login screen for me. So they are 1.5 hours late already and could be any amount of time till it's fixed :/

<EDIT2> 'Course I say that and my next attempt gets me onto the "downloading update" screen. So I take it blizz is doing the whole update through this screeen rather than the previous method of downloading a torrent file then going back out to the Blizzard Downloader to finish... odd.

<EDIT3> Oh. No. They just thought it would be good to take 45 mins to download the torrent file. THEN start downloading the patch o_O

I know, I know, 6 million people trying to download a 151mb file at the same time is never gonna be easy, but do Blizz really HAVE to go out of their way to make it as difficult as possible?

Any chance you could post the gist of what was said on the page - I can't get to the page at the moment. I have the correct port forwarded on my router and have turned off the windows firewall.

& the same for outgoing TCP ports.

After doing that it completed download from 85% in 5 min.

Ok I'll try it - I only had 3724 before. At the moment it says the tracker is not responding - will doing the above change that do you think?

My ports are open, have been for some time. Still reads as behind a firewall, which i know it cant be as other download programs confirm that the ports are open....

There is a link on the tracker that pops up saying "Your Computer appears to be behind a firewall" I clicked that link & it took me to the firewall config screens.

lol i done that a few times but it makes no diff, seems that only 84% of this patch is easy to get .. the rest you must catch 3 rare fish in 3 different parts of the world, fly to STV and get them enchanted in ZG but u find out that he only has the mats to enchant one of your fish so you have to go to MC to get mats and .. end of the day im sure they will fix this lol

Found the page fine and looked at the instructions, they told me nothing i didnt know. I have downloaders that use the same ports as they suggest opening so they are opened on my system and router already, and confirmed as open.

Even took off google bar as that can 'apparently' effect the downloader (yeah ok) still tell me im behind a firewall....sodding blizzard downloaders eh? :)

I'm not really stuck, its just downloading sooo slowly because the tracker wont let me P2P, im currently on 94%, started like an hour ago at around 84%.

Dont mess up your firewall, it's good how it is unless u have made changes in the settings yourself.

Blizzards has problems with their stuff, like always when there is a problem. They should buy less big cars and plane's from the 50.000.000 $ they make per month and use it to get their act together.

ok..serious problems. Downloaded the patch fine, logged in got the new message about delays.

Just tried to log in again & got a message on screen saying the patch had downloaded sucessfully please restart WoW & now the patch is downloading AGAIN??

Stuck on 85% AGAIN.

It's not. 84% of the patch was delivered via the Background Downloader over the last few weeks.

The blizzard downloader stopped @ the 84% mark. What's left is the bit you have to get through the P2P network.

They made a valiant attempt (hey, it removed 129mb you have to download from their awkward download manager) but it's not good enough still to avoid massive blocked lines.

The tracker is not dependant on firewall. I have not changed anything but at first i was dowloading the patch fine then came the tracker problem. After 1 hour the tracker came back and i downloaded the patch till 97%. Now again the tracker problem. I don't think it is related to the fact that you have or not have a firewall. The main think should be if we can get a patch mirror :)

Yeah, it's just a torrent so as long as you can contact the tracker it can provide you with addresses of other users to download from. The problem is that the tracker can't cope with the volume of traffic, which is pretty shabby given that it's not actually hosting the patch

probably i am few of the lucky ones that got 2.90 mb in kinda 1 hour.

any advice just dont do anything.

it says the tracker isnt responding, they just use a bit of a retarded tracker so its kinda logical its a bit slow of understanding.

it says you are behind a firewall, just see if u accidentally got the DVD cover of Harrison Ford's Firewall in front of u. When u have put it behind you.

Most important, dont cancel it just let it do what it does and go watch a movie or something.

BTW, it stopped downloading now, only uploading at 20kbs. Who's the lucky bastard that gets my 20kbs? Give it back!

I have just purchased the game and whilst TRYING to patch it I have both the tracker is not responding and your computer appears to be behind a firewall messages!!! I have opened all ports and as far as I can see tried everything they suggest. Does anyone have any ideas please??? I have seen about just leaving it, but does that include from 0% I just want to play WoW for the first time!!!!!

I certainly picked the wrong time to reinstall my system. I have exactly the same problem as you. And while you can find patch mirrors where you can download every patch and even the clients, it still insists on getting "expansion-speech-engb.mpq" as well which is unavailable on any of the mirrors I tried

And if that was not bad enough: due to the Worldwide Invitational in Paris Blizzard Europe staff will be unavailable until Tuesday :sad:

I suggest you keep an eye on the threads on the official forums (Technical Support). Perhaps some other players will find a good site to get all the things we need to play the game.

Dude, this is annoying it wont download the patch it just says the same thing over and over again, "tracker is not responding" and "your computer appears to behind a firewall" is blizzard just tring to make things difficult or what! :(
Does anyone know how to get around this?

Why resurrect this thread? I'm not a big "forum necro nazi" but this one seems a little dubious..... it's over a year old and gives the impression that wow has been down and worthy of 6 pages of response. To anybody else reading this look at the dates and realize these are isolated cases....
