Well, I'm glad they're finally looking over the rogues (and just in time for me to hit 60!). I'm really glad to hear they're finally planning on implementing the cross-realm battlegrounds... no longer will there be 4 hour waits for any of them! And a new one, to boot... finally have the motivation to get past my Knight rank.

I am concerned about the cross realm BGs as I come from a new server (2months old max) and will probabaly now have to face off against heavily twinked alts from older servers. not good.......

At least I shouldnt have to q so long to get my ass whooped!!! :ponder:

Cross-Realm Battlegrounds

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For the first time in the history of World of Warcraft, you will be able to face off against players from other realms in the Battlegrounds. Coming in patch 1.12 are cross-realm PvP Battlegrounds, linking Alterac Valley, Warsong Gulch, and Arathi Basin so that players from several realms will be combined into one huge matchmaking pool. Replenish your mana, sharpen your blades, and get ready for the biggest battles yet!

World PvP

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
While the Battlegrounds are about to receive a major upgrade of their own, players interested in World PvP will be glad to hear that patch 1.12 will introduce a brand-new type of PvP content to the game. The stage is set for objective-based land battles of truly epic proportions as Horde and Alliance vie for control over important strategic positions and resources around Azeroth. Stay tuned for more news about these new world PvP enhancements coming to World of Warcraft.

Rogue Talent Review

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Next in the ongoing talent review are the rogues, masters of stealth and assassination. Stay tuned for more details on what the rogue talent update will have in store for the sneaky damage dealers.

Objective based World PvP? My dreams have come true!

I'm not at all pleased with the realms being connected for PvP.

I am in the lucky position where we have a balanced realm with eager PvPers on either side, meaning I rarely (if ever) have to queue.

Overall, there's an inbalance between Alliance and Horde, meaning most likely it'll result in waiting times for Alliance.

Furthermore, it'll mean you run into more Premades.

On top of that, I wonder if PvE realms are only going to connected to PvE realms, or if they'll find PvP realm opponents as well...

Then there's the twinking rage which is going around on some realms, but not all.

All in all, it sounds like a brilliant way to muck things up.

Now, the world pvp sounds very intriguing.

Ah, I'm not bothered about the cross realm PvP. It just means I might run up against some talented players, I like a challenge.

The world PvP, now that sounds awesome. Seems like its going to be capturing buildings or towns, like the Towers in AV, but on a much grander scale. Hopefully this will ressurect Wolrd PvP 'cos it's the most fun part of the game.

Hmm. Pros and cons. For me, it will hopefully mean that the waiting times for BGs are lower than the maximum time that I ever stay connected... (WSG is the exception, but for the others 4-5 hour queues are common)

Don't understand why you'd find more premades? Can you explain your reasoning here?

And I hope that Blizzard don't connect PvE and PvP realms, for obvious reasons. Note that they don't say that it is across all realms, so hopefully this is something that they've considered.

Agreed on the problem of inbalanced numbers, but then again I'm not complaining because I'm on a server that is already inbalanced ;-)

Re the twinks, then at least they'll be spread out as well. Good for some, less good for others.

If I have to wait 5 minutes, it's already getting remarkably long.

And what I mean is, other side has 2 PvP guilds, one PvE guild that's keen on PvP. That's 3 teams or so at any given time of the day.

Now, considering that most servers will have those AND that those will the most active, you'll not only have more fixed teams to run into, but you won't even recognise them anymore.

i do hope that they keep a diffrence between normal BG and realm vs realm bg's

Overall, there's an inbalance between Alliance and Horde, meaning most likely it'll result in waiting times for Alliance.Well, I can really only cry dry tears for those better off now who will lose the advantage once every one gets equal opportunities. If you were somehow worse off than everyone else come 1.12, I'd be more sympathetic, but really - lose your privileges gracefully

Then there's the twinking rage which is going around on some realms, but not all.If the pool of players get bigger, and the pairing algorithm smarter, I guess there's a real chance that you can have a pvp group who are all level 15, say - and we can leave the level 19 twinks to fight it out amongst themselves. That would in my view be the real advantage of this feature.

But there will also be proportionately more casual PvP players as well. So the proportion of premade guild groups that you meet should stay roughly constant, assuming that all the servers are, as you suggest, similar.

It is true that at first you won't know and recognise them. Not sure whether this is a good or a bad thing ;-)

The downside is that a lot of the people you'll be playing with in BG are ones you'll never meet outside them. I made a lot of contacts and friends in the battlegrounds, including the guy who recruited me into my current guild.

I hadn't thought about it in that way, most of my friends list and guild roster is made up of people I fought with in the Gulch.

It'll be nice to have some fresh enemies though.

I'm also not sure about the cross-realm BG's... Waiting time decreased, but ass-whooping increased? I'll have to see for myself...

The world-pvp sounds great, if properly implemented that is... But if Blizz keeps doing mysterious about it, it will be cool...!

But i'm most happy with the rogue talents review... I'ts about time we got a boost for our characters... What took Blizz so long??? They didn't notice us because we were stealthed...?

Regarding a possible increase in fixed teams. I have heard that they will remove the option of joining as a group on all BG's. That should make fixed teams a lot less frequent.
On a single server people could still join the queue at the same time and thus have a good chance of getting into the same game, but with several connected servers the risk of getting spread out will be much greater.

The only real problem that I see is, as others have mentioned, that you will play with people you don't know, and people you will never get to know outside the BG's (I asume you can't even send them a whisper if you wanted to).

This would prolly mean cross server trading...

Now all we need is a option with Premade or not :P There is no point in cross realm pvp if i still get bashed by premades. There is on regular basis 5-10 WSG games going on my realm.

I think they'll just disable the trade function in battlegrounds.

According to the following quote from blizzard

Cross-Realm Battlegrounds

Non-world pvp will be similar to W3 matching system. Epic-twinked alts will have to deal with their own kinds. "24/7 PUG-rolling" premade big groups may have to wait in a longer queue and eventually be matched with their own kinds as well.

But other than that the remaining 95%+ WoW players who are casual players, or in typically small groups, (with a few or no epic at all) should enjoy 1.12 patch.

I'm defintiely excited about the world PvP thing. I'd be willing to be they'll introduce a new group for each side to rep with simply for these objectives.

And fromt eh sound of it, they wouldn't need to get rid of DKs, because if all the objectives are being foguth over, cities and outposts that have civilians become like a civilian target in today's wars, ignored by the military for the most part while they fight over the real stuff, i.e. these objective locations.

**Thinks about cross realm trading** =/... Also, some realms may have level 60's (Just hit 60's or something) that aren't even in Scholo gear, then, on the next server, there's a whole guild with Naxx items that constantly spams AV... I just don't see it as that good of a thing. I'm glad to see us Rogue's being looked over though =), seems like it's going to be a HUGE fix seeing that they're only working on us.

Erm... I take it you weren't around at 1.9? We pallys had a huge makeover then, so I guess it won't be our turn again for a looooong time.
