The 40-man Raid Dream Team, if you had the choice

What would you say would be the most deadly 40 man dream team you can imagine that will be able to take on level 60 instances like a piece of cake? (assuming no twinks and no potions in the equation)

Mine would be:

10 Warriors
10 Druids
10 Hunters
5 Mages
5 Warlocks

At the end of the day, and depending on the raid you will need your 3-5 tanks and your 5+ healers/decursers etc...

At least that is what my experience tells me from fights like Sulfuron (wipe with too few healers) or Garr (really needs a few tanks).

And I doubt VW can hold aggro too good there or have the HP. So that pretty much makes sense what Aerath suggested, eh? 39 druids and a warlock mule....And seeing how cenarion rains from the sky in MC or Druid Tier 2 at Ony...I think that is also what Blizz intended.

actually im only a 52 pally so i havent raided anything yet, but the best 5 man i ever did was 5 pallys. i mean, 5 blessings, 5 auras, 5 healers, 5 decent tanks. ok so DPS isnt grand, but we pretty much cant die!!

I think this would be fast and efficent... and also hunter-less, which is my #1 qualification for a good raid. :)

But really, 40 experienced, educated, reasonably geared, well prepared, focused, people trumps all.

:-( Sad though I am to say it, I don't think 40 paladins will ever down Onyxia, due to a lack of ranged dps.

Re the 5-pally groups, i've always wanted to try one of these with a bit of organisation... sadly the only time I've actually been in one descended into a bit of comedy as soon as we started taking significant damage - all 5 of us stopped attacking things to heal each other, out of habit... so we burnt our mana and nobody was actually damaging the mobs... :-)

yavvy - Non-humanoid raid groups would get stuck in narrow passages. :(
