How to learn skinning

I'm having trouble learning skinning. I've managed to learn leatherwork fine by talking to the NPC however there skinning trainer just opens a shop selling shields :( I dont understand why, is there something else I need to do first? I'm a level 8 NE so I'm in Darnassus. Leatherwork is the only main profession I've learnt and I've picked up the 3 2nd professions too. Any help would be appriciated.

Are you sure you are talking to the skinning trainer and not a vendor?

Here is the NPC you need to talk to in darnassus. If you have titan panel or some other program that displays your coordinates it will make it much easier to find.

Well its title was skinning trainer :S but apparently it was the wrong one..there's one outside the city who taught me it. Problem solved!

I thought this was a bug introduced by the last patch......if I remember correctly...and it should be fixed now.:smiley:

It's not fixed (as of last night anyway), the skinning trainer on Craftsman's Terrace in Darnassus still sells shields. All the leatherworking trainers are fine, so if you want to learn skinning you need to go out into Teldrassil and find the guy in the hut about 2/3 of the way along the path (on the north side) going from Dolanaar to Darnassus.
