I've been running Scholomance repeatedly for reputation points, now that I'm half way through revered onto exaulted only boss mob kills have any gains. Is there any more effective ways to do this quite slow and time consuming grind?

You can still get rep by turning in scourgestones. However most people save their scourgestones for when they stop getting Rep for killing trash.
If you haven't you'll probably have to work a little harder to get to exalted!

The repeatable Cauldren quests in the WPL (out of the Bulwark) also provide rep through Revered. Get yourself an Ossious Aggitator and some Arcane Quickeners (from the one of the guys at the Bulwark) and farm Felstone Field. Not only do you get to finish the Cauldren quest for 25 rep each, but you get tons of Scourgestones, many of them Invaders. It's a good way to grind rep between Scholo runs.

The Cauldren quests are good (note, the low level only only gives you 15rep). The annoying thing about them is the arcane quickeners don't stack =[
One teedious way to get rep is to farm the front of strat ud. A couple guildies wanted their hunter boots from the spider boss in strat ud. We farmed it 8 times in a couple of hours to get both pairs of boots. You get tons of rep and stones... plus the 25rep for the boss and ther coruptor stone.
I wouldn't bother doing this until you're honored though. You get rep for undead outside of the instances until honored. When hit honored, only the creatures inside the instances give you rep... and when you hit revered, you're just plainly screwed... only the bosses give you rep.
But what I do I know... my main is just honored =]
In any case, with the new quest rewards available from AD, you'll want to at least get revered. It knocks the number of insignia's needed down to 7.

You can take a brief detour to pick up the Magister Boots at the same time. Only takes one extra fight if Hearthsinger spawns in the right place.

Off the top of my head I would think Scholo would be better if you're revered. But it's just an educated guess. The reasoning being that in Strat you just have I think 7 or 8 boss fights to get rep from... Where as in Scholo you have 7 just in Gandling's room (assuming the side bosses count)... then you also have Ras Frostwhisperer, the Blood Guardian (if she counts), the Bat, Rattlegore, Jandice, the guy in the big AOE room before Ras, and if the invasion is still going you have Lord Blackwood as well.

One interesting thing i learned last night is if you have a non-multiple of 5 rep, you can't get revered by killing trash mobs in an instance. Our priest in our scholo run last night needed 4pts to get revered. After revered you don't get rep from trash mobs in instances (just repeatable quests and bosses). Since a trash mob gives 5 rep, he didn't get any... but he wasn't revered either. It wasn't until the next boss that he got pushed over the revered point.
Now all sources of AD rep I know of gives you multiples of 5... so I don't know how he got that rep... maybe doing a WPL quest which gave him a decayed amount of rep.

The fastest form of rep is a group doing scholo with the intent of "rep" and know how to "play". Throw in a Dawn's Gambit + Blood of Innocents and you have a bucket load of rep. Basically you get two corruptors (100 rep) + 1 scale (50 rep) + 12 * 25 boss rep kills + 50 (gandling) = 500 rep in two hours. There is nothing faster than this especially when you throw shards (usually 2-3 per person). Probably snag enough invadors two get 100 rep every third run. If you get defaulted all the stones...You can easily get 500rep/hour in scholo.
Felstone field #1 is the second fastest with approximately 150-200 rep/hour (40 minion stones/hour + 3-4 cauldrons). You also get a hefty amount of bone chips (usually 20-30 hour). The key to farmign field #1 is pacing yourself and not going balls-out all the time. Constant killing is the key.

One of the rep farming guilds I read (I think from wowwiki) said that a good way to get rep by cauldren is to goto WPL and a group of 50s who most likely haven't done their cauldren questline. This means you'll get the added fire power, but all of the drops. If you do the 4th field (one near EPL) you only need 4 drops per turnin at 25rep plus minion/invader stones.

I suggest not handing in ANY cauldron hand-ins and scourgestones till you are revered. Once the regular mobs in epl/wpl stop giving rep, just do strat undead and scholo till you get to revered. Keep all the stones and whatever mats for cauldrons you have. As soon as you hit revered, gather everything you have (should be at least 6 or 7k worth of rep, if not more), hand it in, and after that your best bet is probably the easternmost field (highest level mobs) if you are 60, cause those regularly drop invader's stones (need 10 for hand in). Over a busy weekend you should be able to grind the 13-14k left + all the drops you may have. You may be tempted to keep joining strat undead and scholo runs, but don't. Only bosses will award rep, and its a gamble whether you will get the coruptor's stone or not.
If you are a mage, you may prefer to also clear the non-ranged (non-caster) westernmost fields, as you can AoE them into oblivion in a matter of seconds.
Get to exalted and enjoy the discounts for the new 1.11 rewards, there is some very nice stuff, especially if you are not in a raiding guild. The 18 slotter is nice for anyone, even if you are in a naxx raiding guild it is not very probable that you've been lucky enough to get 5 of them from Onyxia.
GL and happy grinding. :D

Depending on your class, getting exaulted not really be worth the effort. The only reason to get it is if the 1.11 epic gear is worthwhile for your class. The rare gear needs 7/7 revered or 6/6 exaulted. The exaulted shoulder enchant is really nice though.
As for 18s bags... don't forget the bottomless bag! It has a 1.3% drop rate on the world dragons and a slightly lower rate on Ony... and when you get it, it requires 12 pieces of mooncloth. That means you can make yourself one in about 2 months =]
The only downside to the 18s AD bag is the bloody thing is unique. You can't get 4 off them.
Oh so even if you don't plan to do the whole writ game, it's worth it to turn in 1 valor token to the guy who hands out the writs. The first turnin is worth 200rep. Additional turnins are worth 10rep. You get 50rep for turning in the writ with the items it requests.
So if you're like kcma and make hundreds of gold farming the AH each day, you can buy your rep by picking up writs on the AH and the mats/items which go them. This'll probably cost about 40-50g per 50rep (at least on my server).

I'd say Strat because Scholo is a bit harder, so you'll progress slower. And in strat you can even aoe a bit.

Quite often you can get a group to give you all the stones from the bosses if you pass on everything else.

For reference, a full Scholo run gives you just over 10% worth of faction within Honored. This is all bosses, including Kathinos (sp), and not counting stone turn ins, as the number you manage to grab can very. Checked the numbers last night in a guild run after raids.
When I manage a strat group ill lookout for the same.

Before revered, the quickest way is through Felstone Field or whatever (The first field).
