Some useless formulae that you can use, test, and the never use again. Just to clarify. Yes, I was extremely bored. I won't take the credit for this, because I got most of it from elsewhere, but I have taken to the time double check the values and formulae. I am, however, open to criticism and comments, even additions to what I have posted here. Enjoy.
Attack Power
This is to work out the Base Attack power of your character, before all those items with AP buffs come into play.
Druid
(Str * 2) - 20
Bear Form - ((Str * 2) - 20) + (LVL * 3)
Cat Form - ((Str * 2) - 20) + (LVL * 2) + Agi
Hunter
(Str + Agi) + (LVL * 2) - 20
Mage
Str - 10
Paladin
(Str * 2) + (LVL * 3 ) - 20
Priest
Str - 10
Rogue
(Str + Agi) + (LVL * 2) - 20
Shaman
(Str * 2) + (LVL * 2) -20
Warlock
Str - 10
Warrior
(Str * 2) + (LVL * 3) - 20
DPS
Attack Power (Including Item Bonuses) / 14
Weapon/fist DPS
((Lowest Dmg / 2) + (Highest Dmg / 2)) / Attack Speed (Weapon Speed)
Armour Reduction %age
(Armour / (Armour + 400 + 85 * LVL)) *100 - to express as a percentage.
Blocking
Shield's Block Rating + ((Strength / 20) - 1)
(Shield's Block Rating * 1.30) + ((Strength / 20) - 1) - for Paladin talent with shield
Dodging Chance
((Defense skill - Attacker LVL * 5) * 0.04) + (Agi / Class Bonus) + Racial Bonus + Item Bonus + Talent Bonus = Dodge %age
Note: Dodge links in very closely to Defense, as your chance to dodge is increased slightly with every point of defense. Blizz has said that 1 pont of Defense reduces the change you'll be critted by 0.04%, but that does not take into account your enemy's crit chance (and crit chance increasing gear.)
Parrying
base parry (5%) + Item bonuses + Talent Bonuses + ((Defense - Attacker LVL * 5) * 0.04) = Parry %age
Note: Parry chance is obviously weighed against your attacker level. So, when fighting higher level mobs/players, your Parry chance will not match what is in your Spellbook's Tooltip. Also, you will be fighting against their chance to hit.
That's it for now .. I may update this later, or others can add/comment/criticise what I have here. I am currently working out damages and possible crits with skills, but that takes time and I really can't be assed sometimes ;)
Enjoy.
