i come to you having been temporarily banned from the official WoW forums for posting this article. One post, one temporary ban.
Link wiped, gold ads
All i said is that better PvP is better for endgame. Instances get boring. Pwning innocents in a foriegn land? never boring.

PvP better for end game?

Did i deserve a temporary ban?

Agressive title, nice !
In all your posts, you've linked to this site of yours ? Are you trying to sneak past the "Thou shall not advertise" rule of these forums ?

And about your story, posting news of a concurent MMO on WoW boards ? Did you post it in the OT forum ? If not, then they have the right to temp ban you :)

In short? Yes. If, your post here is any indication, you posted in a non-constructive way and in addition you were advertising a rival game.

The first bit can be enough for a temp ban, dependant upon the exact phrasings and words used. The advertising another game, could also be construed as, next to the regular advertising bit, as trolling and those too are bannable offenses.

Matter of fact, it wouldn't surprise me if you got warned by a Mod here as well, plus had this thread locked. Aerath rather seems to dislike folks misbehaving on the official forums and then coming here to complain, when they are dealt with by the Blizzardian staff.

The tossing around of phrases like fascists doesn't seem to be very high on his: "I find this amusing" list either.

Might want to be careful in not pushing your luck. Rephrasing a few things or posting a retraction for the use of certain words/phrases might help. Lest, you get banned here as well.

My opinion is that competition is good, so I'm not hoping for Warhammer Online to fail just because I'm not interested in it. However, I don't expect it to knock WoW out of its top spot. This doesn't mean I think that WoW is a better game, however.

The whole 25 years vs 2 years argument doesn't hold water at all. First, that's only true if you only look at World of Warcraft's MMO time and ignore the Warcraft line itself. If we hold Warhammer to the same standard, we're now comparing two years to a negative amount of time.

If you're thinking that age of the community makes for a more popular game, that would mean that D&D Online would own both of them, but that hasn't happened.

If you're thinking that the size of the fanbase makes for a more popular game, that is probably closer to true, but I've known many more people that played Diablo or Warcraft than Warhammer, and several times more that played D&D, so it's only a benefit, not a FTW factor.

Even if you're not impressed with it, Blizzard has obviously done something right with WoW, something that noone else has done to date. I can't put my finger on it, and I doubt that anyone else can with any certainty. It's not pure marketing blitz, as I see ads for other MMOs far more often. Maybe it's word of mouth, though I hear better word of mouth from Eve Online players.

As for the ban, I tend to agree with Valas. I don't see anything here where you're trying to be constructive. You equate the endgame with PvP, and assume that War Online will have a more interesting PvP system. It certainly sounds like it may have that, but that isn't a sure thing. Not to mention the fact that not everyone that plays WoW plays it to PvP.

The future is undecided, I think.

I completely fail to see any reason for keeping such a flame-bait thread open, especially since the link to the article is wiped for being riddled with gold seller ads.
