hey yall -- im about to switch from eq to wow -- ive been doin alot of research but i got a few questions --

a friend of mine is going to be playing as a hunter -- we are switching together

i was a sk in eq and am looking for something different to start with -- so no warrior/tank -- and no paladin - just because its a paladin

pure melee isnt really my thing so rog is kinda out -- warlocks remind me of eq necros to an extent and i dont like to be spoon fed in all aspects of the game so locks are out -- pure support sux so priest is out -- going alliance so shammy is out -- friend will be a hunter so hunter is out

a druid is what first caught my eye while checkin out classes/talent specs -- lots of diversity in the class -- seems weak on pvp tho and it also seems that raiding will force any druid to go resto -- which kinda takes out the fun of the class imo

mages seem dope too -- the 1 min wonder fire mages -- or the "defensive" frost mages -- both styles seem cool -- both look like they have their uses --
seems raiding would force a mage to go frost tho for the surviveability -- but constant buffing and or dispersing water and such would get old quick -- ports would be cool tho lol --

i guess it boils down to this -- id love to go for the druid -- feral druid seems pimp but the ability to go balance for moonkin and such is pretty dope -- im not much on being the support class so full resto would blow -- i know its a druid so healing wouldnt be a problem but from what it seems id have to have to spec resto in order to raid -- which is discouraging -- the 0/30/21 build seems perfect but it doesnt look too accepted for raiding -- also the 16/14/21 looks cool but it lacks in all aspects and once more 21 in resto doesnt seem to suffice for raiding -- pvp seems weak until higher lvls -- not a problem tho --

to cut it short cuz im rambling now -- i want to go druid -- endgame raiding doesnt seem to allow for "my" style of druid -- so i go mage but end up more support than id like to be

i know its not as bad as its made out to be -- or maybe it is -- insight/imput/info on the subject would be great -- i have my heart set on druid but if the cons are true im forced to go mage -- at least until i learn the game and have a better idea of what i want lol

rant/rave/bash/flame at will -- i enjoy it

Just a note: if you go feral druid, expect to melee a LOT. It's your only form of damage considering your mana pool with feral items will be so small you'll maybe fit 3-4 spells in before running out. Balance is basically a mage with 10 times the armor but no self-made water/potions or portals.

What exactly did you mean by "spoon-fed" with the warlock?

good to know feral has junk mana pool -- kinda figured but didnt think it was that bad -- "spoonfed" no offense it just seems that warlocks are top of the line in surviveability and dps -- cant be killed and they just straight up murder stuff
