Another gold selling story for you this morning as the practice picks up pace all over the globe. According to the The Kyoto Shimbun, the Japan's Ministry of Economy is investigating the practice of gold selling operations which are involved in fraudulent activity, no surprise there then. The fact that a government body is willing to spend resources on looking into the secondary market* just shows that there is a problem and it's one that's only getting bigger each month. Remember folks, don't get involved in gold selling, don't support the companies involved in the practice or organisations owned or affiliated with gold selling companies. This is the only way you can help stop them in their tracks. You can read the full story over on Gamespot. Thanks to Valas Azuviir for the news.

Yeah, but how can it be free religion, if you have to pay for God? :wink2:

You mean Blizzard and all the other game running companies? Coz, you know, they ARE involved in the practice. If it wasnt for them there would be no gold to sell, you know? And they are bussines partners to the gold selling companies - they sell them numerous game copies. And they have quite some revenuwe generated by gold sellers, both through monthly fees, and constant bannings nad reaquisitions of new game copies. Tha's one of the most important reasons why WoW is still number one in the charts.

And stop telling people where they can spend their hard earned cash. People are not telling you where you are spending yours. Sorry, but this world works like this - when there are bussines opportunities people will pursue them. And notice that unlike drugdealing gold selling is not hurting anyone.

And i just want to stress that i'm not inwolved in virtual goods market myslef in any way - i'm not buyer nor seler, but i believe that people should be able to do anything unless they hurt somebody.

Have you ever seen free religion? I didnt. Just look at the cathlic church, or all the religious sects - they are all about making fortunes - just see what kinds of wealths are stored in Vatican. They are all based on telling people bull**** and drainig cash from "believers". How blind do you have to be to not notice that?

*whoosh*

That was the joke flying over your head.

a) I wasn't making a serious comment about the state of religion hence the use of the winking smiley.

b) In case you missed it, Rush is an admin, he can say whatever he wants here. His boards afterall. Might want to check the forum rules and start to obey them, if you want to remain here. I point to Commandments 9 and 10, in addition to Commandment 5, section b, with regards to the stance of the Admins with regards to gold selling. So, trying to lecture him on this subject. Rather bad form, to say the least.

c) Which brings me to my last point, back to back posting is not allowed. See Commandment 2, section b.

Hope you enjoy your stay here and if you do not. Well, you know where the exit is.

Its called advice, people can take it or leave it.

That's true they don't tell us where to spend ny cash. However we do like to abide by the guidelines set down by Blizzard in their own TOC and EULA and so should every other WoW player. Break those rules and you get whacked with the ban stick by Blizzard.

I've been reading the news here for a while but I finally had to create an account and comment on this.

If you're a news site, stick with the news. It seems now about once a week you do something to display your opposition to gold sellers. You've made it quite clear you don't support it, but its obviously a very big operation and there are obviously hundreds of thousands of people supporting it or they still wouldn't be around. It doesn't make it right, but this isn't the place to launch a crusade against it.

If you're just trying to win favor with Blizzard, just tack a "We Hate Gold Sellers!" banner at the top of the site and move on. I think most of us come here to read WoW-related news, and not to read lectures and "advice" relating to gold farming and buying.

However, I know I'm one among ... oh ... hundreds! ... that come to read about your disagreement with one of the basic site philosopies.
