Just restarted playing WoW after a year long break.

Been using auctioneer to try and make some money and unfortunately a scan (those who use it will know what I speak of) takes almost 25 minutes.

Problem is, I go ahead and go get other stuff done in real life (the scarier of the two worlds) while its scanning and when I return I am staring at character select. Thus, I cant tell if the scan actually FINISHED or not.

I remember there being an automatic logout timer, I just dont remember how long you can stay AFK before it logs you to character select.

Anyone know the EXACT ammount of time before you are auto logged off?

This way I can make sure I am back at the keyboard before the logout and make sure the scanned finished.

I believe it is 15 minutes. I know for a fact it is greater than 12 and less than 18, so I figure, if Blizz is normal (and hence choose a reasonable time) it is 15.

A good way to tell if your auctioneer scan finished is if you do /auctioneer finish exit

This will exit wow after your auctioneer scan. If you're staring at the character selection scree, you afk'd out. If you're staring at your start button... you finished.

I've had a similar issue ,but i've taken to nudging the character about halfway through the scan to prevent afk logout.

Hmm seems I lied a little in my post...tonight I went in flight from ORG to tanaris, and left to go pick up some stuff from the store. I got back( probably around half hour later) and I was still logged into the game. Maybe it has to do with when you go afk....and I dont thin you can go afk while in flight...but I don't know. Somebody should try this!

If you afk'd out halfway a scan you can just do a new scan with half of the checkmarks

It's 30 mins I think. After another 30 mins at the character select screen, I think you get logged out completely.
