Looking for Ace addons.

Ok Here goes, what I want is a square Minimap, with all the minimap buttons (ex: Tracking, Time, Atlas, etc...) in a row on the bottom of the map one next to the other.

Square minimap: Squeenix?
Mobile Minimap Buttons (that can be used with a square minimap): ________?
Mobile Minimap?: ________?
Ace replacement for "Atlas" mod?: ________?


Note: Reason I can't do my research is because I'm at work, and everything besides these forums are allowed by websense. I'm getting my, now 90% ~Ace~, modlist done so when I get home I can just Download everything 1 shot and set it up.

Oh and one more little thing.

There's a Mod that will make a button on your action bar animate a flash (like a camera, not blink with a different color) when a certain skill becomes available (after a global countdown and whatnot). I remember I used to have it, but I really cannot recall the name of it.

ABInfo will do that. Works with the standard Blizz Bars, Discord, Flexbar. And with another AddOn, with Bongos.

Why have 2 unit frame mods and 3 mover mods? Not trying to be critical, I just wondered what functionality that the various ones give you that a single one would not.

I would like to do an all (or as much as possible) Ace UI setup as well so I'd really like to know the reasoning behind the mods that you chose. TIA.

Why have 2 unit frame mods
Because I might use one unit frame for one toon, and another for another toon, depends, I'm in the experimental phase right now. I won't be using both at the same time.

and 3 mover mods?
Because Personally I had trouble with Visor and VisorGUI (which go together), so I'm going to get DragQueen and decide the path I want to take. Tuplad would be best to answer the Visor and DragQueen questions. Right now I'm experiementing and finding out their limits.

Just experimenting with what I like more... Completely going Ace is new to me too, I used a few things, but never really tried converting everything. Now I am (except for a minor few I can't find yet in ace), so like everyone, I need to play around with it and find my comfort zone.

The plan I was going to follow was to install just FuBar and the performance plugin for it then slowly add mods to see what it did to my performance. I've found that I'm too impatient for that so I might just install the list you have and see how it compares to the baseline data I already got with just FuBar.

To move your minimap buttons/minimap you can use Visor (see https://opensvn.csie.org/traccgi/Ace/wiki/Visor for documentation etc :smiley: ), although it's a bit complicated to begin with, once you get used to it you'll find it's really powerful.
DragQueen isn't really an alternative to Visor/MoveAnything, more just a nifty little mod to let you drag a few of your frames around like a window, whereas Visor will let you move/scale anything in your UI but is more for permanent changes. So it's probably nice using both if you like their features. :)
As of yet there's no Ace replacement for Atlas, and I don't believe anyone's planning one either. I don't really think Aceing an addon that uses so many large textures will make all that much of a noticeable performance difference... but then again, I'm not a coder :smiley:

For flashing action bar buttons, have a look at Omni Cooldown Count (http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/fileinfo.php?id=4836) - It's not Ace, but it's by Tuller, author of Bagnon/Bongos and highly supported with users of Ace :smiley:

If you're looking to optimize your general performance, have a look at Warmup (http://ui.worldofwar.net/ui.php?id=1644), which'll give you the load times and memory usage of each of your addons. Bear in mind that any Ace2 addon and addons with embedded libraries (FuBar/FuBar plugins etc) will report incorrect values.

Alright, I've got everything downloaded and installed.

The only thing that is wrong is, one of the mods I've got has 3 little (actions bar type) squares in the middle of my screen, side by side, horizontally. I can't give you a screenie yet, nor a list of addons because my PC is in a box at the moment since I just moved to a new, bigger and better place, and internet isn't getting hooked up till Friday morning (5 mbps).
