Not sure if this is even possible but it would be very VERY nice to be able to open up a window in WoW that would be an instance of IE or Firefox so you can browse the Internet. Great for looking up Thottbot or posting those new guild photos on the website right away. I know, I know, just Alt-Tab. But how many time have you been killed while looking up some info on a website, even if it is just once, that is annoying. Let me know what you think. And you modders out there, if it is even possible. I'm thinking if they can do Texas Holdem why not a wrapper for your favorite browser. Thanks!

It is not possible.
You see, the "Texas Holdem" mod is merely there because they built it into WoW itself- it has no ties to the outside game part of your computer. Mods may only use things inside of themselves, and cannot access networks in any way/shape/form. In the process- no internet, and no accessing folders outside of it's immediate folder.

In addition, asking for a mod to tie into Thottbot on these forums??
Somebody needs to read the forum rules again, lest their stay here becomes very short indeed.

Not sure how that violates any of the rules. I don't see that worldofwar.net has any hosting database of quests and NPC's. Thanks!

Pacoboyd: ****ing hell, learn to read the rules. STICKIES, RULESSSS !!!!!! The first thing you do when you get on a board is reading the RULES!!!
Ok now lets get back to your browser: MrBrdo made a thottbot/worldofwar/allakhazam a while ago - I used it, works great. It's like xfire, but really, alt-tabbing out is better - or just play in windowed mode.
You wont have a BROWSER, just an overlay like in Xfire and you can browse from there.
So yes, a BROWSER is possible, but not junk like Firefox, lol. That buggy thing would cause WoW to crash ever minute.

Firefox is as buggy as you make it yourself :) For someone so into clean, fast interfaces, I can't believe you can't make firefox work
Or do you use Opera?? :/

I used Firefox for a half year. I know the browser very well - and it sucks. You need extensions for everything(now please dont start the "zomg Firefox is pr0 and doesnt need extensions" discussion).
Opera has a built in IRC client, mail client and lots of other goodies which Firefox doesnt have.
Opera > Firefox, eod.
Browsing is good for the long flightpaths :D

No no.. Long flightpaths are there to facilitate the various calls of nature, munchies, thirsty, expunging waste products.
Oh and Pacoboyd..
Commandment 3. 3. Thou Shalt Not Advertise.
3. Sites offering similar or the same content as WorldofWar.Net. It has taken many 'man' hours to compile the sites' content and as such our commitment to the promotion of that content is total.
saitoh183 has already pointed this out.
Commandment 5. Thou Shalt Not Pimp or aid the Pimping of hacks, Cheats or Farming.
Advertising gold/item farming and any sale of in-game items for real world currency is strictly forbidden. Linking to these services and their affiliates is also prohibited.
IGE = gold selling.
IGE owns Thottbot, ergo affiliate, doesn't help it also advertises for OGaming, which is also owned by IGE and is often plastered with gold selling adds.
And the rest has already been said.

Actually if were going to get that nitty gritty about an example, technically I didn't offer a website, just a word that someone would have to google to get the website from. (note, I didin't add the .com) By that logic Valas Azuviir has just broken his own rule by saying IGE = gold selling.

Anyways, thanks all for your advice, oh wait there was none beside Tupland and Quaunaut. Next time plz assist rather than flame. Thanks! Tup - I'll be checking out that program, thanks!

a) To get nitty gritty, you asked for development of a Mod that interacts with a browser so you could get to a rivalling site, which is a gold selling affiliate to boot. A site, you've obviously been using, considering you didn't even know that WWN offered similar services.
b) Telling folks, why certain places are a no no to ask about here, falls within the discussion bit mentioned in Commandment 5.
c) Flaming someone is a violation of Commandment 1, you think I flamed you? Then by all means report me and let the mods, in this case Rushter one of the two admins sort it out. I've got a clean conscience in this case, so I'd welcome a review of what occured.

put quite simply, with a mod that is tied to an element outside the game can and would be deemed as third party software/macro/bot program. even tho that may not be the intent, it can be exploited this way, which is why this mod will never exist. but seriously, just get a second monitor IMHO

Actually I do have a second monitor already however that does not preclude me having to Alt-Tab inorder to change what shows on that screen. Which are often maps for loc's on mobs (from any site that shows up after I google them  ). Eh, thanks anyways!
