An article online states that 40% of the WoW playerbase is "addicted".
...I can quit playing whenever I want to! ....:hide:
"must...obtain...level....60" lol

Here's a quote and the link:
"Having treated all types of addictions for more than 15 years, Orzack says there's little difference between drug use, excessive gambling and heavy game playing."

OBTW Did you know that 40% of WoW players are addicted to playing?

Also, of the people that play WoW, 40% face an addiction?

And, that playing WoW means your 40% addicted?

and, if you took one person from each year, with the same birthday, from birth to 100, like there are 40 of them addicted to WoW, assuming they all play.

and, if monkeys played Wow and pandas played WoW, they could be addicted 40% of the time...the other times they are foraging for food...or throwing Poo.

Realise if you take WoW players and asked one hundred of them to meet you at the mall to line up...only sixty would show, as the others wouldn't be able to leave their computer, cause their addicted to the very thing you asked them to come to the mall to line-up for.

Assume that everoyne that has a profile on this website plays WoW. Read off every group of 4 names, out of ten, they could be the very addicted wow players.

In Conclusion if you play WoW you are addicted it's juat a matter of how much. Based on the evidence above, we are all partially addicted. When you add up everyone...you get 40% addicted. (Cause like, playing the game is part of it, going on Forums, reading guides, downloading, Ui's, going on "Raids", talking about it...ALL PART OF ADDICTION).

So um, Here is a chart

Also spelling porrly or lesser then better grammer is a sign of WoW addiction. So is it when you Say "w00t" and speak Darnassian. Your so in the "fortycenters" (New term!)

Wasabee,
I'm a bit confused still on your overall point. I was sort of following okay until I got to the chart and then you lost me. Are you actually implying that 4/10 WoW players are addicted?!

If so, that's truly amazing and revolutionary! But then as I said, I might have just misunderstood you.

Carefully reading your chart made my eyes cross for a moment and I spilled my water on the cat, causing him to receive quite a nasty shock from the iPod I had fitted over his tiny ears (so he could listen to polka, he likes that for some reason, go figure). He bolted right up over my shoulder and I, startled from the sudden commotion and smell of singed cat fur, fell back out of my chair and struck my head on the lava lamp, which then fell to its own untimely demise on the tile.

I'm stil a bit dizzy from striking my head and the burnt cat hair smell is making my eyes water a bit, but it seems as though you were leading up to a point that 40% of WoW players may be addicted. My apologies if you were actually going somewhere else with that :ponder:

Geez N00B. 2 out of 5 people with addictions play WoW, the "addictions" being some MMORPG...can't recall the name right now as I'm upset about your cat. (Can't Spell...so sad...poor cat!)

Make sure you get the contents of the lava lamp onto the cat...it helps with the burnt cat hair smell.

Also, does he play WoW?

Ah, ok. So would that also extend to 1 out of every 2.5 people? Or must they be whole people? What about people who only halfway pay attention while playing? This is getting rather complicated I'm afraid..

Thanks for the suggestion of the lava lamp oil. I'll see if that helps get the smell out. He might be pretty slippery for a week or so, but it's worth it if that smell is gone. Ugh.

The cat does play WoW on occasion, but he seems only 20% addicted. He has the attentioin span of a gnat and 6 out of 30 times he will ignore the game to chase a moth on the wall.

The moth doesn't play at all.

Ahh...I was wondering about the moth! (As I was reading...not playing WoW which 40% of the players are "addicted").

I forgot the Proc rate of the "Addicted WoW Players"...which would infact lower the rate from 40% to 37.25% as the addiction could stack (as people have been observed "Doing Ony" and are at least 80% addicted...they "feel" they "can't leave" the game for "15 minutes"...especially "Phase 2" where they become "obessed" w"i"th "DOTS"?)

But if you factor in "2 boxers" and "10 day trial" people then your numbers work...

...also gnats can't be addicted to WoW...by the time they log on they forget what they were doing and don't really have any compulsion to "try again"..

Well, it's of little consequence I suppose. I think the lifespan of a gnat is like 2 days or something, so they wouldn't get very far into the game anyway.
