View Full Version : Surprise Change from Normal to PvP!

My first post ever, but I'm a bit upset. A few weeks ago, my grandson and I created new characters on Dalaran server when our usual Bloodhoof was offline. Then a few days ago, my husband and I went to Dalaran to work up new Hunter characters just for fun to play together. Dalaran was always listed as a NORMAL server. Last night Dalaran went offline for some unscheduled emergency service so my husband and I went to sleep. This morning I was playing on Dalaran and it suddenly went down again. I checked its status on both WoW and WoW.net sites and was amazed to discover that Dalaran is now listed as a PvP server. What happened and what can we do to get our Hunters onto a Normal site? Thanks from Mamaloki and Babababo.

It might be a glitch since the population data is like that too. For example a new/low populated server is seen as a high populated server on the wow site. So it may just be the website, check your realmlist.

If these are just chars that you goof off with occasionally I wouldn't worry about it even if it did go PVP.

It will might become a nice change for you every now and then - kind of an added challenge.

I made the move to pvp about 10 months ago and I kick myself for not doing it sooner, bear in mind I am a slightly older than marketing age female and not excessively bloodthirsty, I just like the fact that there really is a "war" between aliance and horde. It adds to the realistic feeling. (as much as anything can when you are pretending to be a blue haired troll walking around with a giant monkey and a riding dinosaur....)

I also play on Dalaran. It is still Normal, not PvP. It is also down right now as it has been most of the weekend since Friday night. So don't fret, when it comes back up, I'm sure it is still Normal.

Hi

If You haven't tried PVP give it a go, I started on a normal server but it felt so wrong standing and watching a horde player in Wetlands and basically just chasing the same mobs so I decided to move to a PVP server instead.
I changed side to the Horde and to make a long story short, now I really feel the idea of wow, I'm not looking for PVP activelly but it adds so much excitement when You travel to the fairy in Elwynn Forrest or other Alliance territorys, just the risk of getting jumped by a bunch of allies makes the travels so much more fun.
Anyway that's just my 2c

Try a diff aspect...go to a lowbie alli town as a 60 horde, and just hang out for a bit...run around...taunt them, etc., and someone will eventually shoot at you, hit you, etc.

Of course, they are then tagged...Let them hit you awhile, then hit them once, for more than 50% of their health...Watch them run!! That is quite a bit of fun...heh

Good lord it's HUGE ... how do I make the image smaller?

Ok, let's say you got Irfanview.
Click Image, then select the resize/resample, then fiddle around with the options there, till you get something you like. Reupload and replace the link.

Certain image sites also automatically resize pics into thumbnails if they're too big.
