Playing alterac valley and doing lots of turnins might be your best bet here.

I guess you can just turn in cloth just like with every faction?

All you can do is every quest that even remotely involves Ironforge or dwarves in general... Sadly, the only repeatable quests for reputation are only available AFTER getting to 50th level, so get used to that Mechanical Riding Lawnmower. (Dwarves ride Organic Riding Lawnmowers, just so you can tell the difference)
The only plausible method to raise reputation to Exalted prior to 50+, was the Ahn'Qiraj War Effort. You'd get the needed supplies to the lower Alt, and have him/her turn in for Rep... I got my Dwarven Engineer to exalted with Gnomeregan Exiles, so that he could don his goggles and someday-to-be-enchanted Riding Gloves (http://wwndata.worldofwar.net/item.php?id=1304) and climb up on his very own Mechanostrider, therafter bequeathed "Silver Thunderbird". (Yep, he's kept them since he was in Redridge, just so he could use them on a mount... Too bad hes still only 27th. Heheheh.)
But, with the War Effort over, the only methd would be the Cloth Quests... Like they said before, do them early, and do them OFTEN. Once you're qualified for the Runecloth turn-ins, prepare to be scouring the AH for every cheap scrap of Runecloth you can find. It's best to be stocking it all way on a Banker Alt until you can do the hand-ins... Then, at the very level you can talk to the NPC again, you can hand her as much a physically possible for the maximum Reputation gain. I think the Dwarven Quartermaster is 'Mistina Steelshield'... but, as I stated, the repeatable quest is only available at 50th.
Also, at 51st, you have access to Alterac Valley... there you can either fight for reputation for the Red-armored War Ram, or turn in repeatable quests for Ironforge Reputation to ride a normal Dwarven Mount/Epic Mount.
(Note: the Epic Mount will cost ~800g with max reputation and the rank of Sergeant... while the AV Bought War Ram will cost a little over 600g... but will require Exalted with AV, rather than IF.)
Personally, I'd go with the AV Rep, as there are other rewards worth the effort, as well as Rank gains, and the cost is cut by a lot more than just th ~200g, as it takes into account never having to buy Runecloth for hand-ins.

The easiest way to get a ram mount is AV exalted. It will cost about 600g, as has been said before. Just spend a week in AV and you'll get it, plus about 2-3 other epics depending on class.
Otherwise.
Always level in Ironforge/dwarf zones, and turn in tons of runecloth at level 60. Run AV and do the quests to get Ironforge rep.

I'm in the same case, I want a Black Stripped Tiger to my gnome... What are these quest to get rep? Do I need a minimum of rep to be able to do them?

I agree with the rest of the post, AV is a better way to go if you like AV, but I was under the impression that you should do the runecloth quests as soon as allowed, as you get less rep per turn-in at 60. I could be wrong, but I'd recommend verifying this before waiting.

The Ironforge quests are essentially any quest that's associated with Dwarves. Anything in Dun Morogh, Loch Modan, lots of Menethil, some of Arathi Highlands, Badlands, Uldaman, etc.
In addition, don't forget the cloth turnins (Wool, Silk, Mageweave, and Runecloth) at the Cloth Quartermaster near the Tailor trainer in Ironforge. As was stated, Runecloth turnins are repeatable for rep once you hit 60.
It's similar for Darnassus rep, which it sounds like you may be referring to with regards to the "tiger". Teldrassil, Darkshore, Ashenvale, Desolace, Feralas, Felwood, and parts of Winterspring should be your questing destinations.
