I just got wow this weekend and have solo'd to 20. So .. what's the best way to find groups? (I'm on aerie peak server.)

Join the LFG channel.

Think the default nr of the channel is 4! So just /4 *text*....

thanks for teh quick reply .. i guess it's not auto active like general trade defense ... So .. how do I activate it so i can hear it? ;)

Rightklick the chatwindow and you will get up a menu!
Or you could just type /join LookingForGroup

thanks all for the help with this .. I found out that the tabs were right-clickable and I was able to create a 3rd one for LFG chat. wow is a little more detailed and customizable than the game i'm coming from. :)
