$25 Bounty - mod to loot via keyboard

Ok, I can do pretty much anything in this game with the keyboard except loot. It is incredibly annoying to me that I can grind xp for an hour and the only time I have to touch the mouse is to loot.

I don't think it is even possible or it would have been done already, but if you can make a mod to loot the just killed mob with just the keyboard then I will paypal you a $25 donation as soon as I test it.

To my knowledge, that is not possible however you may want to check out aceloot. If it still works it will move the loot window under your curser thus making it easy for you to loot. it also allows you to postion the loot window anywhere on the screen. you can find ace loot on wowinterface.com

If you can get your hands on any keyboard that allows you to bind a key to the right click of a mouse, ur golden. I use the G15 by logitech but I have also used other logitech media keyboards and been able to almost toss the mouse completely. PS: no donation necessary :thumbsup:

I'm not sure why nobody has pointed this out, but what you're requesting is coming dangerously close to botting. The way bots handle looting right now is a bit more complicated than it might seem, and instantiating a way to automatically loot is opening the door to full blown automation.

Is it really that hard to shift click the mob you just downed? O:)

Uh, this bears zero similarity to botting.

The requester (and me) want to be able to press a button on the keyboard to loot instead of (or in addition to) pressing a button on the mouse to loot. This is like pressing 1 to turn on autoattack instead of rightclicking on a hostile.

There is no automation here, just ergonomics.

What you can do: You can rebind the right click action to a key on the keyboard, or any other input.

What you can't do: You can't command that action on anything other than what is currently under your cursor.

I see nothing against using this for legitimate purposes, but it could easily be used for some kinda pseudo-botting with a macro system, and I doubt it's possible with the API anyway.

Logdan has pointed out the major flaw with the plan. You'd still have to move the cursor over the corpse before you could press the button otherwise how does the client know what you want to right click on? Good luck with Mousekeys!
