buff event?

what i need is an event to check if the players target casts a buff, i already searched on wowwiki but im not sure which event would be best for this:/

so what event should i use?:ponder:

ok after testing all the events it seems that CHAT_MSG_SPELL_PERIODIC_HOSTILEPLAYER_BUFFS is the one i need.

now there are 2 other problems i have.

1. the event is fired for every hostile player around me, how can i only get the events for the selected target?

2. the arg1 returns something like "targetname gains spell" how can i pick the spellname out of that?

Witchhunt will do this. In the slash commands you can set it to only pickup your target's spell casting messages. Rather handy in PvP or some instances (ZG) where the mobs spam their spells.
