I think they should change the group size to 8 people, and they should have mini-groups with 4 people. Raids should be up to 5 groups, a total of 40. Half-raids should be 3 groups, or 24 people.
The reason for this is that it would be easier to get the perfect instance size. If you have a little group of friends you want to go with, you can do a 4-person instance. They can be fairly small, maybe 1 and 1/2 hours to 2 hours. The 8-person instances can be like normal size. Maybe they could add some stuff to the normal instances . . .
And raids are just fine as they are.
I want to change that because I have a group of 3 that I play with, and we find it hard to do instances of our level. It's annoying.

I dont think it is what you mean, but something like this is happening in the expansion. Not sure exactly what.

Are you saying it's hard for you to find 2 other people to play an instance with? If so, imagine trying to find 4 people (who are decent players and not just going to steal loot).
I think the 5 man is a good size for a regular instance, it allows for a balance between the classes, and you should feel lucky that you know 2 other people to play with on a regular basis which alleviates you from trying to find those 2 extra people.

Very much agreed. I had a core group leveling up that made it much easier. A warrior, and a priest, I being a Lock. On my server those are the 2 hardest to find!

Hmm, I think 6 is the perfect size. I LOVE the group of priest/warrior/warlock/hunter/mage. It has CC, wipe prevention, and PZoUS. But it lacks healing a little. A group of 6, with the other player being a shaman, would be great.
An 8-person group would probably be like 1 warrior, 1 priest, 1 shaman/paladin, 1 or 2 druids, 1 or 2 mages, maybe a rogue, 1 warlock, and 1 hunter. That uses pretty much every class, and is not a bad group. Actually, the perfect group would probably be 1 of each class. It's cool that way. You'd have 4 healers, 3 rezzers, 1 self-rezzer, wipe prevention, pulling, CC, CC against humanoids, lock-picking, etc.

5 is good enough. 1 good healer, 1 good DPS, 1 very good tank and 1 very good AOE, and 1 supporter who can be anyone. And the DPS/AOE can also be good CC, or the supporter be the CC.
With a group like this, and provided everybody knows what he is doing, we have absolutely no problems with a 5 man instance. In the case of raids, might as well get multiple copies of the 5 man configuration.
