I'll be getting an upgraded pc after Christmas and I'll be putting WOW on it. I have an existing account on the current computer. I keep reading posts about problems with accounts when people have been away for a while, and are re-activating their accounts, so do you think I'm likely to have problems? I'm assuming all you do is install the disks on the new machine - not sure how to get all the patches that have been downloaded since though.

Is there anything else I should be aware of? Sorry, I'm Fred Flintstone when it comes to pc's.

All you need to do is install WOW on your new computer. It'll run the opening cinematics like it did the first time you played and you'll need to redo any interface customisations you have, but you shouldn't have any problems. All your characters will be available as you left them. I play on two different computers and have never had any probs.

WOW will automatically download all the patches you need when you first run it, though it'll take a while...

Enjoy your new computer :-) *envy*

Thanks - that doesn't sound so bad.

You seem to already realize that the account isn't tied to a comp...

Install the program on the new comp, and update using one of the patches posted on the web...There is a website that has a comprehensive patch that brings you up to the current rev, in one file.
