Er...Huzzah fellow travellers of the cosmic void that is readily accessible by a box made in foregin...aw crap forget it.

What's so good about RPG servers? What do they able/disable? (CHuck Norris Filter?)

Umm seeing as I haven't read anyhting about them I think they are the following:
1. You have to manually select "common" to speak in the language that everyone understands. (Alliance side)
2. Lot's of ti-thers, thous, thithers, and thouts.
3. You have to party to get any quest.
4. a GM, for seemingly no reason, smites/curse/or impales you for failing to move along the story line.
5. All channels removed, unless your psychic - uses one main trade skill spot
6. No ! or ? above peoples heads. You actually have to read the text/find people on your own.
7. Drunk Guards
8. Once an instance is done, it's done. (What...praytell, hath we not slayed that foul Dragon Onyxia prior quarter moon? I hear voices in the air requesting aide to slay her yet again!)
9. No guild chat. Just a board with notes...that you have to pay copper to get paper, ink, and pushpins.
10. KCMA
11. Ability to kill anyone...understanding the GM will smite THee!
12. Pirate/Victorian/Elfy mod activated so all dialogue is conformed appropriatley. YARG! (I ran with somone that had the pirate one...what a hoot!)
13. Wenches everywhere
14. Priests charge 10,000 G to res you
15. You have Permanent Debuffs ("Ha, Poor Jim, lost an eye, got ganked by a bunch a murlocs in South Shore!")
16. More loot for killing things. ("Dude...err Brother...this guy has 2 swords, a sheild, fullset of armour, and some sweet boxers!")
17. Ability to learn cross faction languages ("hmm...I can talk to the Furbolongs in Felwood, and that undead guy can talk to him...but I can't talk to the undead guy...hey furball get over here...I need you to translate!")
18. Rogues can actually use their pick pocketing skill...on anyone. (That should free up some lag issues in the cities...)
19. Warlock summons are really scary.
20. Mages portals don't "always" work. (Mage [Stormwind]:"I wonder where poor Jim is at? I ported him here last night!" Jim [Black Wing Lair]: "Stupid mage, I told him to take more care in preparing the portal")
21. Mobs actually see you, and respond to a sap. (Orc 1: "So I was saying to Crocitch..." Orc 2 [sapped]: Droooooolll...Orc 1 "I so hate it Bob when you do that...anyway I was telling Crocitch...")
22. Okay you get the gist. What is it really about?

I play on a rppvp. All it seems to mean to me is there are rp guilds, they have rp events. Often these events are griefed by non rp'rs but for the most part they are a community inside the community. 90% of the community does not rp and more or less ignores the 10% that do. the ones that RP pretty much ignore the ones that don't.

When you are running to say.. scholo and you see 3 or 4 people sittin around a campfire they made using emotes and talking in say while waiting on their last party member you have rp. Also, anytime you see a group of people "walking" or anyone walking and not running you see rp.

Also, when you look at the auction house and the tailoring recipe for rich purple shirt going for 300g you know why.

Most people that roll on an RP server will tell you:
1. we are older (mid 20s and up usually)
2. more mature, less leet, swearing, whining, harrassment, etc.
3. more teamwork, you can actually pass on BoP in a pug, and not get ninjad, even with epics.

The people that RP just don't talk that much about real life, mainly pretend to be someone else. No biggie. Some people make storylines, other just act goofy.

I have NEVER heard anyone say "thee". In fact, everything you wrote is just the same crap we left your servers to get away from.

Just like everyone else, there are jerks and easygoing folks. our server is cool, we all get along RPers and non RPers. A lot of the RP elitists left (the ones that get all pissy) for Steemwheedle or Thorium Brotherhood, unfortunately pvp whiners have transferred and do nothing but grief and harrass others. (they thought we'd be easy prey "oh RPers can't PvP" heh) Before x-server we started winning AV with teamwork (horde) until they transferred and filled the raid chat with arguing. heh. And whine. and whine more.

They are both pretty bad. But I've heard people from other RP servers tell us we are the nicest and most laid back Rp server. But i'm not telling you cause i don't want even more transfers ;) Full on priests! move along! Oh and no names like "Ipwnyou" etc. so it's more like a fantasy environment.

Oh, and wenches are not everwhere, only in Goldshire.

Heh, I have a few characters on RP realms so I know what is so good about them compared to the other servers, but thanks for the chuckle all the same...

I play on an old RP realm and most RP is inside communities, so it's kinda hard to join as an outsider. As such you find a lot of frustrated players who can't join the rp (and call those that are in the groups RP elite).

For names I sometimes feel like I'm in some hippy community names like: "Moonbeam" or <enter random fruit here> are common.

Oh and we still have our share of morons.

What i like about RP realms.

Much fewer stupid names.
Much less garbage in chat channels.
Much more immersion in the game.

What I don't like.

Getting in groups is hard.

Sadly many people on RP realms either do not know what RP is or don't want to!
There is the usually childishness and idiocy :(

However most of the time i only group in my guild. We RP but not all the time and all are more mature - in attitude if nothing else - than most WoW players i encounter.
