View Full Version : Epic Mount and.. Old Mount..

Hey guys, just wondering when you buy your epic mount. What do you do with your old one? Unfortunately I think it's a huge waste to simply just destroy it, however it serves no practical purpose anymore. If Blizzard made it so you can sell the mount for half price, I'd be more opt to buy epic mounts.

I keep my "normal" mount in my inventory and use it when I am riding with party members who do not have an epic mount. This is especially useful when I go into "follow" mode (there is nothing more annoying then watching my epic mount run up the rear of the person I am following, and then proceed to studder behind it as it keeps stopping and starting to keep with the slower pace) or when someone wants to "follow" me.

One exception to this is when running to Strat, where I always use the epic mount to distract the undead along the way so that the party can ride unimpeded.

i destroyed mine the moment i got my epic .. lol.. once you go epic, you cant go back.

When I get my Epic Mount, I'm certainly going to keep my normal mount. He was my first, and I'll never abandon him.

I haven't got an Epic mount yet, but since I'm an item hogger anyway I will probably keep my old mount.

Sorry but when Tiddles arrives after I hit 60, poor little Mittens is dogfood. Not got space in bank to keep old stuff I'll never use again.

I do what the other poster said, and use it for when I'm riding somewhere with my guildies, none of whom have epic mounts. I'm usually the one leading, and it's really annoying trying to pause now and then to keep from getting too far ahead of them.

Epic mount? What's that? I've been 60 for 6 months and never got one. It's pricey and if you want me there faster....summon me.

I have found that 20% between Travel Form and your normal mount to be a world of difference.

If you have no mounts at all atm. I suggest you splurdge 90G and still get one...

I have my normal mount on my druid and I actually hardly use it, travel form wins.

Wintrow, I've found quite the opposite. It doesn't seem like much in the way of movement speed at all. Certainly not worth 90 G. Plus you get a "free" inventory slot.

And it's a slight overstatement to say that they're 20% different in speed. They're 20% *of walking speed* different, but travel form is only about 13% slower than mounted speed.

See also, upgrading from your race's non-epic mount to another race's epic mount. :)
