when i try to post on the official wow-forums i get a no character available message, thatīs with wow-europe.com.
when i try to use the "select character" link i get the same message.
Playing on darkspear btw.

So to my question, hehe. Iīve gotten disconnected regularly since i bought the game last monday. so i donīt know if itīs a patch issue.
My latency is fair, approx. 150-200 ms.
got ports 3724, 6112, and 6881-6999 forwarded on my router and in winxp firewall.
Signal strength is very high.
Newest drivers for my Linksys WMP54G-EU PCI adapter
Freshest firmware for my Netgear WGR614v6.
No other internet activity is affected.
Other online games have no problems.

would love some help, Thanks dudes

EDIT: upon further investigation i disabled my win xp firewall, seems to do the trick, getting a 138 ms lat now, while alt+tab:ing to write this, messenger running.
is there any records to winxp firewall to be a conflict with WoW?

EDIT2: Even more fiddling, Looking in on my router, i see a "SPI firewall" will this be a better alternative to the winxp?

ps. this post is like a one-man race ;)
anywho, iīll keep my little trial&error going, maybe someone have some hard facts.

Works great without winxp sp2 firewall, well we canīt sit here without any protection, so iīll try the SPI firewall thing, googled it, looked pretty solid.
Donīt know really, any suggestions?

EDIT!: well now it works flawlessly, SPI firewall up and running, sweet.
Thanks for your help "Ahrr, let the boy learn himself, heīll get character! harr!"
Maybe some one who has the same issue can do the same!

Adding my char, doing a little dance of happiness outside Stormwind,
Latency meter green and solid, no d/cīs yet!

Just as an addendum to those with the same problem, and it was the same answer I was planning on giving you (but didn't due to lack of time on my part).....

Ensure that your firewall is properly configured so that WoW can function normally (http://faq.wow-europe.com/en/article.php?id=291).

There are similar instructions for routers, if you are in need of such information as well.

Side note, the link above leads to the EU site as opposed to the US one, due to the latter being down right now, but there shouldn't be any difference to the procedures you need to follow.

Yeah, well i had configured it properly, still had to disable it totally to get WoW to work smoothly.
just a heads up.
