<br><br><p>While rummaging around for her Beta key earlier, Elly stumbled upon a spare BC Beta key from BlizzCon. As a thanks to the site supporters (PALS) we are putting the key up for grabs so if you're a site supporter all you need to do is head to this <a href="http://forums.worldofwar.net/showthread.php?t=376363">thread</a>*in the site supporters forum and post a reply. Next week we will randomly select a key winner.*Hop to it!</p>

In answer to joining now, that is a yes. The key works for any region also.
It is likely we will have more keys later to give away but that is not guaranteed as yet.

beta is region free. WOW beta was anyway. i see no reason why beta should be US only.

this i can answer with authority ;)
no you cannot. the retail software for WOW-asia/europe/us/china are flagged differently. and if you have a non-US version of the software, you cannot connect to US realm. not without hacking the game.
i'm in asia atm traveling, i have no problem playing WOW on my laptop, but i cannot play wow on a US realm @ a PC cafe. not even when i have access to the US realm list, i simply cannot log into it.

no you cannot. the retail software for WOW-asia/europe/us/china are flagged differently. and if you have a non-US version of the software, you cannot connect to US realm. not without hacking the game.

Having said that, if you have the US client installed, say in your case on a laptop, and you were to log onto a local ISP or an ISP with branches across the world like AOHELL, then yes, you would be able to play on the US servers.
US CD-Key, as mentioned by Bud, tends to mean having access to a US client as well. Simply logging onto the US servers, with a US client and account from Europe or Asia or Africa or South America, or technically even Antartica (though the lag would be bad :grin: ) is quite possible.
satellite broadband? but yes, i've been traveling in asia for the past 5 months and it works everywhere.

Not to sound like a dick or anything, but I wonder if it was blizzard's intention when they gave away these keys that you would be hawking them off for money.
You know people's gonna pay you just to get a shot at the BC beta test. Philosophical question: what then makes you better than the goldsellers and power-levelers?

However I will say, like any site that wants to look after their supporters, we are entitled to offer up what ever prizes/giveaways we wish. Many supporters have contributed to the network for years so it's only fair we give something back when we can.

Seriously funny crap.
1. They want to reward their contributing members. (i.e. People that help pay for the site.) No problem!
2. They are not selling the key for money. If you happen to become a member for a chance to get the key, that's your choice. No Problem!
3. If you want to take issue, then take issue with the fact they are allowing new members to buy into the lottery...er...I mean a chance to enjoy the rewards of being a member, one of which is a chance to get a key, that just came into possesion.
Gold/powerleveling sellers are deemed "evil" and "wrong" cause they "exploit" the game, like those teen/college kids that play 60 hours a week in Tier 3 gear cause they don't have kids or other responsiblities or financial obligations that take up their time, as opposed to the people that contribute to the "system" but seemingly get screwed in every area of life, and now Blizzard cause they make enough $$$ to buy the "effects" of a teen/college kids putting in all that time....blah, blah, blah.

BUT, it's justifyable because, when other ppl do it, it's evil. however, when we do it, it's okay :) my not taking issue with ppl who profit from bliz's game is not exactly a secret so i have no problem with it all <3
just for extra info, this tactic is used by GW Bush all the time :D and according to the leader of the free world, there is really no comparison between the two so hush Wasabee :D

Rush and Elly are mean. They spend all of this money and take on the risk of running a fansite with huge bandwidth bills, combat miscreants attacking their servers at odd hours 24/7, and offer all of that for the small price of seeing adverts on the site. After all of that effort they have the gall to want to reward the people who pitch in to help! Can you imagine that? Man. What nasty selfish people. Trying to take all of my hard earned cash. I mean, being a pal costs like $1.50!! 150 US pennies! Man, I could like buy a soda and a candy bar for that. I might strave if I gave them that much.
Oh wait, I need to be on a diet. Okay. I guess it's cool.

I don't know why people talk about Bush so much, especially insult him. Clinton talked just as bad as him and he LIED under oath and he is still loved. Bush says one word wrong and it's "Oh what a retard." which I don't find to be fair.
Also, if you're going to say the whole "There were no weapons of mass destruction" thing, then stop yourself now, because it was written in US Documents that there were around 300 WMD's found, and I have a few family Members that were in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Edit: Oops, forgot to say another thing that has to do with the thread itself. Yes, I know that the site has to go through all of that, but still, I don't see why you have to pretty much bribe people to join with Paypal just so they get a (Small) chance to win the BC Key. I'm guessing there's more than 100 posts already in there?

I think its neat that WWN wants to make the beta key available to a lucky site supporter. I think I contributed way back when under an account I've lost access to, but its no big deal. I'm learning to get my obsession with the expansion under control, and getting access to a beta key wouldn't help that too much. :laugh:

49 posts in that thread, with some of the duplicates. $1.50 minimum buys you a chance. I'm actually suprised they're giving it away at all. Those Blizzcon tickets weren't free, and they should probably just give it to The Pig.

I dont understand what the big deal is over them only offerring the key to paying members. I am not a payign member, I would not even expect to be offerred a pass. How about that...that's almost as Crazy as being passed out on a metro in Thailand as the govenment is overthrown by the military!
So sign up to be a member today! The only discrimination for the pass is you have to be a "member". If you choose a life of non-membership, please do not blame the members for the benefits they receive, they made a choice and have equal chance to express their opinions about the Free Beta key as the non-members. However, if there are mandatory member awareness programs that one has to attend, even though I'm not a member, I will have to protest against that. However, I will follow the rules of the site as a non-memeber. (I mean we can't make people take non-member classes right?)
So thanks to WWN for the chance for the Beta Key, and thanks to KCMA in giving us a cool story to tell people when they start talking about Thailand!

I've lived in a horrible neighborhood, I've lived in an okay neighborhood, now I live out in the middle of nowhere where it's the best, and guess what? I'm not saying "Oh, those stupid (insert race here) they're always doing bad things." I'm saying "Ugh... That part of my life sucked." and I move on. Strig, you're going to get this forum shut down, lol. They closed that forum because of tons of people talking about those things, it wasn't just me saying those things. Also, everything I've said about them is true.
Anyway, about the key, I guess we'll just have to wait until they get extra's or something and hand it out to the public. =).
