Hi all,

I have a centrino based Dell Inspiron 8600 with 1gb ram and a Radeon 9600 Pro Turbo and I am having a problem. Despite setting my computer for maximum performance (with AC plugged in) in the CPU still insists on throttling back during warcraft so I get processor speeds ranging for 2ghz (maximum) down to 378mhz which makes the game unplayable. 2ghz gets me 60fps whilst 378mhz gets me 4fps and it changes randomly during gameplay. Does anybody have any suggestions as to how I can force to stay on maximum throughout?
Regards,
UNSRM

My guess is, you have the power settings set to "Auto Performance," "DYnamic," or something similar; in other words, it scales appropriately. For example, I have the P-M 2.0 GHZ, so it scales from 2GHZ to 800MHZ. I recommend getting a third party program--Intel's Speedstep is a good start, but not too powerful--such as RMClock or Notebook Hardware Control

Download this program and run it at all times.... it'll have you fans run at max at all time during WOW, get a laptop cooling pad..

Is a good buy....

Have you system set up when you do run WOW... all programs not needed are turned off or disabled.... (For Example: Mouse touch pad, if you use a USB Mouse or similar.

Also disable and process that arn't necessary either....
Go to http://www.processlibrary.com/ and enter different process that are currently running on you computer to find out if they are needed for system stability (if not end the process)

Try to keep game setting down also.... even though your laptop may meet rec. requirements of the game.... it will have trouble keeping up as you may notice in you Processor speeds....

Hope that helps.....
