In the famed Leeroy video it is stated that their chance of survival is 32.3% (repeating of course).
Mr. Jenkins quickly brings that percentage down, but my question is where did they get that calculation?
Is it possible to look at a room or a boss or a mob and compare it to your group and come up with a chance of survival?

No. The video was staged. They were making fun of people who overplan instead of enjoying the game. The number was made up.

the fact that the vid was made up makes it far less funny...

Yeah, that guy was just an elitest prick of a guild master.

well, of course you can look at a room and calculate your chance of survival...
like you are standing at nefarian and half of your raid is still in greens... that would be a 0.1% survival :P but it boils down to knowing your raidgroup and its capabilities.

Chance of survival = (Lowest IQ of a group member / Number of group members) / 100 :P .

I really cant see why people seem to think the Leroy joke loses its funny when they understand it is setup. Its a sketch, like those seen for ages in television and on comedyshows, only with the internet as a media. I think its a pretty funny sketch.

Wow, I cant tell if the OP is being serious or not...
Of course it was staged. How many times during the explanation of a fight does everybody make a perfect circle around the guild leader in the game? If that wasnt staged, I may quit the game under the pretense that players like that actually exist.
It is making fun of all the players who overplan and over complicate things. Especially considering they are entering a room where the first mob encounter is upstairs away from the eggs (assuming they pull the others into the room they are already in...)
I crack up every time I watch leeroy's movie.

Hey, just a bit of trivia about that (obviously) staged video...
Lots of people think the last line is "At least I've got chicken."
What he really said was "At least I'm not chicken."
Listen carefully and think about the context--they are ridiculing him and he is defending himself, not eating dinner.
But it was a pretty funny video. I like the one spoofing cops better, though.
