Will a 6600GT be OK for WoW?

Hello guys.

Here are my system specs.

Intel Pentium 4 - 3.0GHz - 2MB Cache
2 GIG RAM

I've just ordered a 6800GT 128MB, graphics card.

Please tell me if it will play WoW smoothly?

It should. WoW is primarily a RAM hog and you got that covered.
Though, if you're still worried then you might want to run this program (http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/gamespy_srl?registration_option_id=1773). After, you've installed your new vid card.

Do keep in mind though, often enough, it's simply wiser to run WoW on vid card drivers, which are slightly older than the newest ones out there. Has to do with what Blizzard uses to test their own patches with. So if say NVidia, has released patch XYZ Mk. II on the 25th of september, and Blizzard released their own patch on the 24th, then stick to patch XYZ Mk. I, because the Mk. II hasn't been used in testing yet.

i always use the newest video driver. you can always flash it back anyway.

and that rig will be more than fine. i've played WOW on P3 with geforce 2 ultra class vid card and geforce4mx integrated at 1280x1024. WOW doesnt use the latest directX for effect and it's not very demanding at all on vid card.

6600 will run just fine...

Iam able to enen run at 5200 GeForce Fx (mobile chip) in a laptop....

you might experience slight graphice lag in big cities but nothing too bad.....

which is the Nvidia's "Can I Run It" app. which looks at your hardware and determines how your compuiter/laptop can run wow and how good it will.....

and as far as using older drivers... i think they are great, i've used them and compared them to the forceware drivers that are released... I've experience that the latest forceware drivers work just fine with WOW... and with the new Drivers Nvidia releases they are some glitches..... either go with older drivers as suggested or go with the forceware drivers....

I use a 6200 version and it runs perfect. So, 6600GT should run just as good:)

with that rig you should be able to run maxed i should think we a decent fps.
