Woodcrafting.

My idea is a new profession called Woodcrafting (which would also have a gathering profession to go along with it).

With this profession, people can take wood (which is found attached to trees) and craft things such as bows, arrows, staves, shields and certain trinkets.

Not much else to say about it. It's pretty straight-forward, but would be a great profession for the game.

We've been harping about that to Blizzard, since WoW itself was still in Closed Beta. We even made suggestions that some of the material that you gathered from this craft, could then be used as trade goods in other professions as well.

Like Engineering, Blacksmithing, enchanting etc, and the reverse also being true. You want Thorium arrows? You need thorium bars and then the relevant type of wood.

Thus far no dice.

They may be saving the idea for the next expansion, since they promised one per year..

I think it's a great idea. I used to play runescape and now I play WoW. The one thing I like about runescape is that you could chop down trees!!! And that fishing is automatic. Sitting there right-clicking on a bobby thingy every 30 seconds is REALLY boring.
