Ok, i really don't get this, why do people ask what happens if you don't buy the burning crusade.
I mean, are there actually people willing to pay the monthly fee, but not willing to purchase the game.
If you don't intend to buy TBC you will probably stop playing anyway.
I really don't get it why someone would want to play WOW without buying TBC.

Forums are made to ask questions, even those that might not concern yourself. That and there are players that arn't near level 60 yet and they feel TBC might not be usefull for them yet.

Yes, but what about those who are 60 already?
Many people can barely afford the monthly fee, let alone the expansion .

People WILL buy the expansion, otherwise thwy'll be stuck at lvl 60 forever, and the game experience will die for them.

Agree, esp. if they come out with an exp. every year like they want to. That and the monthly fee will be very very expensive. Free content path please :D

Then playing WoW might not be the smartest thing to do for them in the first place...

Monthly fee will remain exactly the same actually. Expansions themselves will not effect that.

As others said if they can barely afford the monthly fee then maybe this game isn't for them.
Why not? I know a few people who can only just afford WoW. They love the game just as much as I do, if not more, and they're both much better at it than me. They get by fine, though sometimes they have to take a month off. So, tell me why WoW isn't for them?

I think the same will happen as in Guild wars. All characters will get updated with the new skills/talent trees, however you won't be able to create BE/dreanei, go to outland and get to level 70.
