I have a question about the various types of stones that warlocks create . . . can these be made from say an Alt char (obviously the lock) and then mailed to another char?
Under the description in the Guide it says that the created item disappears once the player logs out for 15 mins . . . really? So you can't make and sell them to/for other players either?
Some clarification would be greatly appreciated!
TY!

You can't mail or sell them.
They really go poof when you log out for 15 min (all conjured items do) You can hower trade them (not all some are soulbound) and the player will keep them untill he/she uses them (duh) or logs out for 15 min :p

AFAIK, Soulstones and Lifestones cannot be mailed. They can, however, be traded/given away.
Conjured items disappear after you have been logged out for 15 minutes. This includes Warlock stones, and Mage food/water.

So, I'm guessing the workaround for this is to have a friend or guildy hold them for your Alt?
Thanks for the info guys!

Yes.
For Lifestones, that would work. But remember that Lifestones are Unique. You can only have in your possession one of each level of Lifestone, so .....

Thanks bro!

You can't trade soulstones. It's a spell you cast on a friendly target that gives them a buff. So I wouldn't bother with creating a warlock alt just to make healthstones/soulstones. Besides, it takes a soulshard to create each one so you'd have to farm for the shards anyway.

Yeah, I should have been more clear when I said that a SS can be "traded".

Dumb question here: assuming enough cooldown time has passed, can you SS multiple targets?
I ... uh ... never tried it. :o

Casting a SS has a cooldown (30 minutes IIRC), which is how long a SS will last if unused. So no, you cannot SS multiple targets.

Good point.
But you also don't have to "buff" the SS immediately. And the cooldown is on SS creation. So could you create one, let the creation cooldown pass, "buff" someone with the exising one, create another one, and then "buff" someone else immediately? They'd both effectively have 30 min of SS.

Only one SS can be in existence at a time, they are also considered unique, iirc.

There wouldn't be two in existence at the same time. You'd use one, create one, use one. Two buffs in existence.
Unless this can't be done for another reason ....

Not explaining it very well. *sigh*
Cut and paste job.
Creating a Soulstone
The Create Soulstone spell requires 3 seconds of casting time, an amount of mana that depends on the rank of the spell, and a Soul Shard. The Soulstone created is soulbound to the Warlock, who can never have more than one Soulstone at once.
Using a Soulstone
Having a Soulstone in the inventory provides no benefit, and it cannot be equipped. The benefit occurs when the Warlock selects an ally (or himself/herself) and uses the Soulstone (usually by right-clicking on it). This requires approximately 2 seconds and ends with a sound and graphical effect that surrounds the Warlock no matter who is getting the benefit.
Being Soulstoned and Soulstone Strategies
If you are the target of this, congratulations! You've been soulstoned. This means that for the next 30 minutes, if you die, you will be presented with an extra option: besides the usual "Release Spirit" choice, you have a new option, "Use Soulstone," meaning that you will immediately return to life right where you died. If you're soulstoned, die and choose "Release Spirit," you have just wasted your Soulstone, but there may be legitimate reasons to do this -- for example, you may have died in the middle of a group of mobs who are still there and will immediately kill you again when you resurrect. Try to avoid this situation.
Soulstoned characters should take extra care where they die. Soulstone resurrection takes place at the exact spot where your corpse is - if that's right next to some mob, you'll immediately draw aggro and die again. So if you are soulstoned, and the wipe is coming, try to pick a safe place away from the mob's home so you can resurrect safely. Do not succumb to the delusion that you can singlehandedly turn the tide of the battle by resurrecting with partial health and mana and no buffs in mid-combat. The party is counting on you to wait until the mobs go away and only then to use the Soulstone to resurrect yourself and begin resurrecting the others.
If you have the ability to resurrect other players, check to see whether they're soulstoned before you do so. The "Soulstoned" icon should still appear if you select their corpse (assuming they haven't yet released). This means they're looking at the "Release Spirit/Use Soulstone" box, perhaps thinking about what to do. They probably haven't read this page. If you go ahead and resurrect them, you will waste your time and mana, and the Warlock's Soulstone. There's no reason why they shouldn't self-resurrect if there's an ally alive who feels that the situation is safe enough to go around resurrecting people.
The Soulstone creation process has a 30-minute cooldown that begins when the Warlock actually uses the Soulstone on someone. If the target dies after 1 minute, it will be 29 more minutes until the same Warlock can make another Soulstone. If the target dies after 29 minutes, though, the Warlock can make another one in 1 minute. Because the cooldown is the same length as the effect's duration, it is possible for the Warlock to provide near-continuous coverage for one person (possibly the Warlock).
The best use of the Soulstone in a group situation is for the Warlock to pick a resurrector (usually a Priest or Paladin, sometimes a Druid or Shaman) and keep that person soulstoned as a form of "wipe insurance" -- it is that person's job to either stay out of combat entirely, or at least to be sure to die far from the mobs' spawn points, so that if the entire party is wiped out, they can wait until no mobs are around, self-resurrect with the Soulstone, and commence wipe recovery, starting with those who are also capable of resurrection or healing. If you're the party's "wipe insurance" and are killed during combat, do not resurrect yourself until after the fight is over, no matter how sure you are of your ability to single-handedly turn the tide of the battle. The rest of the party is counting on you to stay down and resurrect only when it's safe.
If you have a paladin in your party then soulstone him, since he lasts longer, can ressurect (obviously) and if by some chance he gets aggro, he might actually be able to kill whatever mob it is and move on.

So the short answer is that the 30 min cooldown doesn't start when the SS is created; it starts when the SS is *applied*.
Thanks.

There is a way to have 2 soulstone buffs at same time. Create soulstone and use it on yourself, log out for 30 mins so cooldown passes and then create another. The first soulstone buff stays on you while you are logged out, and you can then use the second stone to buff someone else. I usually create soulstone right after using 1, since the cooldown is on use, not creation, and noticed this little thing one day.

I am sorry, but i seriously doubt this far.
As a warlock player, my experience is:
- Soulstones are unique and bind on pick up (ie. they get soulbound to the warlock that creates them).
- The soulstone creation spell has no cooldown. (note, remember that soulstones are unique, that is you cannot create a new soulstone while you have on in your inventory.)
- The soulstone item has a cooldown much like a health potion has. That is, if you use a health potion, you cannot use another health potion for 3 minutes (2?). The soulstone's cooldown is 30 minutes. The cooldown begins when you use it (duh!). And if you create a new soulstone after using one, the new soulstones appears in cooldown.
- More importantly, the existance of the soulstone effect does not affect your cooldown in anyway.
So, afaik, no continous ss!!

SWEET !
Especially if you know raid will start in 30 minutes you can time this.
Wonder if it's an exploit...
But then again, they'd have to make the soulstone buff to expire while logged out to counter it. Or have the "use soulstone"-effect give an error like "You still have a soulstone-effect active on someone"...
