Ok, Blizzard's finally announced the Collector's Edition details:

http://worldofwarcraft.com/burningcrusade/townhall/collectors.html

For those who can't see that:

We're happy to announce that World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade will ship in standard as well as Collector's Edition packages. The Collector's Edition will come in a special box that contains many exclusive extras to enhance your adventure into Outland, including:

World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade on both CD and DVD
World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Behind-the-Scenes DVD
The Art of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Hardcover Art Book
Exclusive In-Game Pet: Netherwhelp
Two World of Warcraft Trading Card Game Starter Packs, plus Exclusive Cards
Map of Outland Mouse Pad
World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Soundtrack CD

The behind-the-scenes DVD will offer more than two hours worth of developer interviews and commentary on all aspects of the creation of The Burning Crusade, as well as trailers and cinematics from the game, and even footage of panel discussions from BlizzCon.

Collector's Edition owners will also be able to take their adventures from the computer to the tabletop, with two starter packs for the new World of Warcraft Trading Card Game -- one for themselves and one to share with a friend. In addition, Collector's Edition owners will receive three exclusive tournament-legal World of Warcraft Trading Card Game cards to incorporate in their decks or trade with other World of Warcraft TCG players.

With the Collector's Edition-exclusive in-game pet, the netherwhelp, you'll be the envy of your guildmates and other players as you roam the expanses of Outland and Azeroth. We'll post an image of the netherwhelp, offspring of the nether drake flying mount, in the near future.

A soundtrack CD with stirring music from the expansion pack, a beautiful coffee table book with exclusive concept art, and an Outland-themed mouse pad round out the wealth of bonus items available in the Collector's Edition of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade. Further details on the contents, as well as pricing and availability info, will be announced at a later date.

Honestly, I like it, and am not overly surprised at the revealed/announced contents.

I guess this is a decent enough of a spot to ask this (certainly not worthy of its own thread)...

My highest char, and main, is 34 and probably won't be near 60 when this ships. Is there any reason for me to buy it?

You'll hit 60 eventually right?

And two new races, and the new profession....?

Suggestions: Buy it now if you want to start alts of the new races or want to try jewelcrafting. Buy it now if you think you'll hit level 60 and want to start 60-70 by the end of the year (leveling 40-60 is slower than 1-40), because it may be hard to find in stores for the first month... WoW certainly was. Buy it now if you want the CE and the awesome bonus crap. Don't buy it now if you're not sure you're going to want to keep playing.

Well...maybe. ;)

And then there's still a NE Druid I want to create and an Undead Priest and an Orc Warrior.

I don't mind dropping $40 on something (it's not like my Mom, rest her soul, is buying it for me, but I don't want to install it and see no difference.

Just curious is all. I'd probably have it pre-ordered already if I had a couple of 60's.

If you want the collector’s edition preorder it. From my understanding the first collector’s editions sold out very quickly.

I have only two questions. Will the pet be like the first collector’s edition pets that every character on that account can get or will it be like the convention pet that only one character on your account can get? And if each character can have one, will our existing characters get it as well?

Well, there's been several threads on this forum about what the benefits of BC would be to pre-level 60 characters. While there definitely is more for those who are 60+, I personally believe there is enough positive things in the expansion to warrant getting it, even if you don't have a level 60 char yet. My roommate, for instance, has I think a level 44 character as his highest, but he's preordering BC (mainly because he wants to make a Blood Elf and a Draenei)

If you are asking "will outlands benefit someone below or at around level 58?" the answer is prolly 'not much'.

YES! I'm buying this for sure, I bought the first Collector's, why not this one? Everyone likes /dancing with and /greeting my Diablo ;)

And guys, I know why the pet has wings, so it can follow you when you fly on your flying mount!

EB Games always speculates when they don't know an official date.

All of the companies offering preorders have speculative dates, none of them which are the ACTUAL date, because Blizzard has yet to announce it. Therefore, it is as useful as a rumor, at best.

It might already have been sold up...people signing their names on a list for Collector's in the store....(dunno, but maybe, i'm always so pessimistic)

I'm not sold on the CE. After spending an arseload of money upgrading my pc for Battlefield 2142 I'm less inclined to spend money on mousemats and mini-pets. I'd be tempted if a figurine came with it, and then only if it was a forsaken figurine :)

The soundtrack and artbook pretty much sell it for me. I really liked the ones that came with my WoW CE.

The DVD also, because it shows making of BC, not the original WoW ;)

Yep, it has a lot of similar things that the WoW CE had, only updated for TBC. It's a sell for me.
